* Archer units in ''VideoGame/ConquerorsBlade'' invoke this trope every time they shoot (especially since most archer units number 20 or more soldiers).
** There is a literal Rain of Arrows skill for the Longbow hero class (it shoots up to twelve arrows off the bow at once).

** Cure Selene in ''Anime/StarTwinklePrettyCure'' also has shown to have this ability. Once during a heated battle, she fired a single arrow into the sky with her EnergyBow which then created a shower of magic arrows that pummeled the mooks.

* ''Anime/PrettyCure'':
** In ''Anime/YesPrettyCure5 Yes! Pretty Cure 5GoGo!'', Cure Aqua displayed the ability to produce a Rain of Arrows any time it was useful (which was less often than you'd think). Although her "bow" is a magically summoned arc of water floating in midair which produces arrows (which seem to be made of water) from nowhere, so we can probably call this justified.

** The Asturians specialize in this kind of attack. They fancy themselves a nation of [[ArcherArchetype Robin-Hood-esque "yeomen"]], so Asturian fighting men spend years learning the longbow. A good Asturian archer can have three arrows in the air at the same time. During the prelude to the Battle of Vo Mimbre (seen in ''Belgarath the Sorcerer''), an Asturian force is able to send an arrow storm against a Murgo army on the other side of a river three hundred paces wide. Later, during the siege of Vo Mimbre itself, Asturian archers on the city walls are so effective with their bows that the only way the attacking Angaraks can get within a hundred paces of the walls is to stay inside their mobile siege towers.

* ''Film/HarryPotterAndTheDeathlyHallowsPart2'': Not literal arrows, but used in much the same way. When Voldemort and his death eaters arrive at Hogwarts, they discover that the castle has been thoroughly shielded. As a fist attempt to break through, they unleash a massive volley of spells that produce arrow-like energy bolts.

** When fighting defensively, Murgo archers aren't bad at this kind of warfare either. In ''King of the Murgos'', a Murgo force uses long-range archery to slaughter a force of invading Malloreans. The Murgos have a rather unfair advantage, though, in that they're shooting their arrows from hillsides well above the Malloreans.

* In the [[Literature/HumanxCommonwealth Tran-ky-ky trilogy]] by Creator/AlanDeanFoster, the Tran are powerful archers, and when Milliken Williams introduces them to the crossbow, they become even better. Crossbow barrages play a critical role in [[spoiler:both defeats of Sagyanak's Horde in ''Icerigger'', as well as the defense of Moulokin in ''Mission to Moulokin''.]]

* ''WesternAnimation/BlueEyeSamurai''. In "A Fixed Number of Paths", Heiji Shindo claims to have 500 archers waiting in ambush should violence ensue. Turns out he's not bluffing, and Mizu and Taigen have to run for a narrow gully using a large iron tetsubin lid as a shield. Even then it's clear they'll never make it out of the gully alive until Ringo turns up for a BigDamnHeroes.

** Before the Samurai, the Yamato state that would eventually become Japan was at the receiving end of this when trying to fight the Emishi people, the coalition of tribes that occupied northern Honshu before unification, as their army, based on the Tang Dynasty model, was mostly composed of conscript spearmen and the Emishi were excellent mounted archers. The table was turned when the Yamato started fielding their own horse archers, initially from Emishi tribes that had defected to their side re-equipped with armor and bows realized with their superior technology, creating the warrior units that would eventually evolve in the Samurai.

** Both featured and subverted; Chorh-Gom prison has hundreds of ballistae lining the ledges and battlements, each capable of firing ''frickin' enormous, spear-like arrows''...but Tai Lung not only uses these to break open his manacles, he's able to toss them right back at the guards, then kick a volley to stab into the rocky walls, providing him with a way to ascend out of the pit. So the rain of arrows starts off as a cool motif for the good guys, only to be snatched away and showing off the bad guy's skills instead.

* For much of their history the Samurai were mostly mounted archers, and frightengly effective ones at that thanks to armor, precision, and ''longbows'' (while modern reproductions are toned down, a test on a historic one revealed it slightly more powerful than its English counterpart), effectively resulting in their enemies being buried in arrows - and beating the Mongols at their own game during their attempted invasions of Japan. Use of mounted archery started to decline after said invasions due the Mongols supporting themselves with gunpowder artillery, but remained important up until the Edo period.
