This Richard is similar in appearance to Oswald Mosley, the leader of Britain's home-grown Fascist movement during the 1930s. There are also many visual {{ShoutOut}}s to ''Literature/NineteenEightyFour'' in the film.
* ''Franchise/RoboCop'' has this quite a bit. The Rehabs in ''Film/RoboCop3'' wear grey uniforms, and their oppressive tactics are reminiscent of Nazis; Bertha even outright calls them "Nazi sons of bitches!"

- the stuff about Restac in Cold Blood is basically conjecture (there is no word of god about influences from Skorzeny and the strips were probably more to match with Eldane's robe, which was red, black and *yellow*
- The Ninth Doctor stuff is also headcanon/conjecture. his jacket is indeed similar to a u-boat captains but its also a pretty typical type of leather jackets, it was bought and there's been no talk from showwriters or the costume designer about choosing it because of its design origin
- the Turn Left stuff is more 'Does This Remind You of Anything' rather than Nazi logos/uniforms
- the Idiots Lantern stuff is already is in 'No Swastikas', nor is it much an example of this trope

** A weird inversion: The [[TheNthDoctor Ninth Doctor]]'s leather jacket was patterned after a German submariner's jacket ([[http://www.thebadwolf.com/vintage.htm source]]). This is probably to reflect the fact that the Doctor has attempted (and from the audience's perspective, ''succeeded in'') an actual, intentional genocide by this point. Commented on by Captain Jack in [[Recap/DoctorWhoS27E9TheEmptyChild "The Empty Child"]], set in [[UsefulNotes/WorldWarII 1941 London]]:
--->'''Jack:''' The way you guys are blending in with the local colour – I mean [[WearingAFlagOnYourHead Flag Girl]] is bad enough, but ''U-Boat Captain''?
** A more subtle example can be seen in [[Recap/DoctorWhoS28E7TheIdiotsLantern "The Idiot's Lantern"]], in which the TV antennae are shaped like swastikas.
** [[Recap/DoctorWhoS30E11TurnLeft "Turn Left"]]: In the {{crapsack|World}} alternate timeline, the '''British government''' goes this route, if Wilf's comment when the Colasantos are taken away is any indication:
--->'''Wilf:''' "Labour camps". That's what they called them last time.\\
'''Donna:''' ...what d'you mean?\\
'''Wilf:''' It's happening again.\\
'''Donna:''' What is?\\
''[cut to the perpetually optimistic Mr. Colasanto, who's breaking down and sobbing as he hugs his wife as they are hauled away]''
** [[Recap/DoctorWhoS31E9ColdBlood "Cold Blood"]]: Silurian military commander Restac, a GeneralRipper consumed by her FantasticRacism against humans, has red, white and black epaulettes like the old German flags, and also sports a nasty [[GoodScarsEvilScars facial scar]] reminiscent of Nazi commando leader Otto Skorzeny.

Edited the Inferno stuff cos Mosley stuff was conjecture + https://web.archive.org/web/20130314061603/https://www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/classic/episodeguide/inferno/detail.shtml '[In the parallel universe an internal right wing revolution during World War II led to the appeasement of the Nazis.] (...) The Brigade Leader speaks of the 'Defence of the Republic Act, 1943'. (...) In their world Stahlman is Stahlmann'

Dalek stuff was removed cos its more Nazi By Any Other Name, so was Alex Rider stuff for same reason (or just a Nazi as is?). also tweaked Warrior of Lost World for context. sorry

** The [[Recap/DoctorWhoS1E2TheDaleks very first Dalek serial]] includes Daleks doing Nazi salutes ([[SpecialEffectFailure with their plungers]]) while talking about how they are superior beings. It all goes downhill from there.
** In [[Recap/DoctorWhoS2E2TheDalekInvasionOfEarth "The Dalek Invasion of Earth"]], the Daleks refer to the genocide of all Earth life with the extremely loaded term of a "FinalSolution".
** [[Recap/DoctorWhoS7E4Inferno "Inferno"]] is set in a parallel universe where its implied the UK was taken over by the British Union of Fascists (exemplified by a poster of an Oswald Mosley lookalike) in the mid-20th century, and is now the [[PeoplesRepublicOfTyranny "Republic of Great Britain"]]. Instead of UNIT, it's the "Republican Security Force", with UNIT's beige uniforms being replaced with brownshirts and jackboots. Even the ranks are English translations of Nazi Party ranks.

Even the ranks are English translations of Nazi Party ranks. It's heavily implied that the regime is the [[DayOfTheJackboot result of Britain losing WWII]]
