* Certain ethnic groups around the world ''cannot'' grow facial hair. This is especially true to an extent among the indigenous pre-Columbian ancestry groups of North and South America.
:: That's actually a myth, if a commonly believed one. Beards may be somewhat rare in depictions and possibly the population as a whole (I can't find information on the exact prevalence within various tribes- I think there's a preference for clean-shaving, but am not certain) but indigenous American peoples (that is, the descendants of the 'paleoindians' who crossed the Bering Strait near the end of the last ice age) can and do grow facial hair, as is evidenced both by portraits of natives by those who were there during the initial spread of European settlement, and by many modern natives.
