* Since the "Lost In The Woods" sequence from ''Disney/Frozen2'' was styled after music videos to begin with, the video for {{Music/Weezer}}'s cover of it for the soundtrack album mainly replicates it in live action on a set made to look like a forest: Weezer's singer. These two factors motivated the band to make the music video for "The Show Must Go On" a compilation of their other videos from the 1981-1991 period.

* [[Music/TaijiSawada D.T.R.]] provided an example of how NOT to do this early in TheNineties, around 1994, in their PV for "Cybernetic Crime," as the video was so poorly shot (including excessive camera spin, little member focus, etcetera) that it is arguably one of the worst Japanese rock videos ever made.

* Music/{{Icehouse}}'s "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IUFOVu1CurM Electric Blue]]" did one of these on a high-rise in UsefulNotes/{{Sydney}}. The video starts off during the daytime, but the sun sets during the saxophone break, and when we cut back to the band it's full dark.

* Zig-zagged with Music/{{Asia}}'s video for "Only Time Will Tell". Instead of the band, it featured gymnasts doing backflips and other acrobatics against a white backdrop.

* One version of the video for REO Speedwagon's "Can't Fight This Feeling" combines this with the "In The Studio" variant.
