I explained my reasons for rejecting comparisons between the Reign of Terror and the repression of the 1798 rebellion in Ireland in the Discussion page for French Revolution. While I think '98 IS comparable with the Vendée and St. Domingue, I've altered the entry on the Irish Rebellions to just stick to the facts and refrain from editorializing ("Divide and Conquer" is such a tired trope anyway, and Catholic Emancipation was a very touchy subject.
