On occasion, the Man in White might actually be genuinely good (if uncannily otherworldly), as MorganFreeman in the pic demonstrates. Sometimes, its just ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin and you have a genuinely nice person who figuratively wears his goody-two-shoes-ness on his sleeve. TropesAreNotBad, and the Man in White need not be either.

* Professor Gennosuke Yumi from ''Anime/MazingerZ''. Since he was a MarriedToTheJob scientist spent the most part of the time working in his lab, he wore constantly his labcoat. Prof. Kenzou Kabuto from ''Anime/GreatMazinger'' also played the trope, but Dr. Umon from ''Anime/UFORoboGrendizer'' subverted it: despite of he was a scientist and were perfectly natural for him to wear a white labcoat when he was working, he used to wear light-blue clothes.
