While they are employees on paper, Nick and Hallie clearly see Chessy as a close friend to the point that Chessy gets very emotional when she learns that Hallie has switched places with her twin sister Annie, and when Elizabeth is having a stressed rant about seeing Nick again, she mentions that Martin is more than a butler and more like a dear brother who just happens to work for them. Even his interactions with Annie seem more like those of a loving uncle than a butler. This is best demonstrated by their elaborate secret handshake.

** [[ComicBook/{{Nightwing}} Dick Grayson]] and [[ComicBook/WonderGirl Donna Troy]] from the ''New Teen Titans''. They really act like brother and sister and shared leadership of the team. [[note]] George Perez deliberately played this up -- when he drew them, they looked like they could pass for fraternal twins. And since this was TheEighties, they got the nicknames "Donnie and Marie" (the Osmond siblings) in and out of universe [[/note]] Which is surprising given that he is the ChickMagnet and she looks like a younger version of Wonder Woman. Also, they both ''really'' [[HeroesWantRedheads prefer redheads]] (see Oracle and Starfire on his end, Red Arrow and Terry Long on her end).

* Ragna and Ruby in ''Fanfic/BlazBlueAlternativeRemnant'' develop a close friendship over the course of their partnership, to the point where they often come across as a grouchy older brother and his chirpy younger sister. In Chapter 56, Ragna admits to his master that he sees Ruby as a younger sister, and in Chapter 69, it's made clear that Ruby sees Ragna as the older brother she never had.

** Phoenix Wright and Maya Fey consider themselves a little family and Maya calls herself Phoenix's sister; they constantly rib on each other but it's clear that they care about each other deeply and will go to any lengths to keep each other safe.

* Near the end of ''Film/StarWarsEpisodeIIIRevengeOfTheSith'' Obi-Wan Kenobi says, "[[WeUsedToBeFriends You were my brother, Anakin! I loved you!]]"

They've been close friends and allies for over a decade since they first teamed up, able to read each other better than anyone. For all intents and purposes, they are a platonic BattleCouple. (This is in ''huge'' contrast to how their parents got along... or rather, didn't.)

* According to Creator/JohnnyDepp, this is the relationship between Alice and the Hatter in Creator/TimBurton's ''Film/AliceInWonderland2010''.

** In ''Film/AvengersAgeOfUltron'', Natasha's dynamic with Hawkeye also appears to be this, as he is HappilyMarried to a civilian and has some adorable tots who call the master assassin [[HonoraryUncle "Auntie Nat."]]

* Carlos and Akane in ''VisualNovel/ZeroTimeDilemma'' develop this bond over the course of the story (At least in the timelines when [[spoiler:she's not murdering him for [[ViolentlyProtectiveGirlfriend killing Junpei]]]]). Their friendship is purely platonic given that Akane [[SingleTargetSexuality only has eyes on Junpei]], and Carlos not only [[ShipperOnDeck ships them]], but is not interested in romance whatsoever. In the True End Carlos actually says that he feels like he gained a new sister.
** [[VisualNovel/VirtuesLastReward Sigma and Phi]] are another example. They have trusted each other nearly since the first time they met, he's a lot more outspoken when in her presence, and [[spoiler:saving her is her first thought when they're about to be executed]]. ''VisualNovel/ZeroTimeDilemma'' [[spoiler:subverts the trope by revealing that they are actually father and daughter]].

* ''Webcomic/ElGoonishShive'': When Elliot tried to assess why his recent feelings toward another girl are different from his feelings towards his girlfriend, Sarah, he [[http://egscomics.com/?date=2013-04-04 suddenly realized]] that he sees her more like a sister than as a girlfriend, but had been oblivious to it all that time.[[note]]Ellen had [[http://www.egscomics.com/?date=2013-03-12 realized this]] about herself shortly after discovering she couldn't be with Sarah but wasn't sure if Elliot felt the same way[[/note]] While his girlfriend didn't feel the same way about him, she ultimately wasn't too disappointed as she had her [[http://www.egscomics.com/?date=2013-02-22 own reasons]] for wanting to break up with him.

** In [[Recap/AvatarTheLastAirbenderTheEmberIslandPlayers "The Ember Island Players"]], the ShowWithinAShow portrays [[KidHero Aang]] and [[TeamMom Katara]] as this. Aang, who has had a crush on Katara since the first episode, freaks out and begins to wonder if Katara really thinks of him this way.
