** Miles Edgeworth and Franziska von Karma were, in fact, raised together as brother and sister, Edgeworth having been adopted after his own father died. Both parts acknowledge the other as a sibling figure, and Franziska has said Edgeworth was a von Karma numerous times. This doesn't stop them from bickering, but that doesn't stop blood siblings either.
--->'''Franziska:''' "He's like my little brother."

point to call him her [[InsistentTerminology "little" brother]] and it's [[WhipItGood really not wise]] to correct her on that.

** The same case can also apply with the main hero and heroine of ''VideoGame/TalesOfGraces''. Despite the traditional romantic feelings harboring between the Franchise/TalesOf heroes, this time, the main character's love interest isn't the main heroine (who unfortunately is [[DieForOurShip hit hard by some fans]]), so despite the numerous ShipTease moments, nothing romantic ever occurs between the two of them. [[spoiler: It doesn't help that the main heroine isn't even human.]] In the Lineage to the Future arc, [[TheHero Asbel]] explicitly refers to [[MysteriousWaif Sophie]] like a sister (although in a skit, she refers to him like a father-figure as well--ItMakesSenseInContext).

* In ''Manga/{{Naruto}}'', WordOfGod states that Sakura and Naruto's relationship evolved into this in the end. ''Anime/TheLastNarutoTheMovie'' even gives Sakura the role of CoolBigSis, [[ShipperOnDeck selflessly helping out Naruto in his burgeoning relationship with Hinata]].

** In retrospect, this can actually be seen throughout the series, where like Tsunade was with Nawaki, their friendship felt more akin to the relationship between an older, well-meaning, though at times overbearing sister and a equally meaning, tall, happy, yet somewhat annoying younger brother.

** A meta example on top of that, as of ''Civil War'', Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson have worked together on a total of six movies (including that movie, the first ''Avengers'', ''Winter Soldier'' and ''Age of Ultron'') for about 12 years since 2004's ''The Perfect Score''. They haven't dated in real life and the only time they played actual romantic interests for each other was 2007's ''The Nanny Diaires''.

* Ororo and Scott become this in [[http://archiveofourown.org/series/82162 Stars from Home]]. Initially Ororo is still quite young, but as she grows up this becomes MistakenForRomance--although they both insist it's platonic and [[ComingOutStory he's really not her type.]]
