** The battle against [[spoiler: [[HijackedByGanon Dark Purple Arfoire]]]] plays ''More Soul! Continue'', the theme for the Zero Dimension Z arc.
** The battle against [[spoiler: Affimojas]] plays ''Delusion 4tune'', the theme for the Hyper Dimension G arc.
** The battle against [[spoiler: [[EnemyWithout Kurome]]]] does not play ''Delusion Catharsis'', the opening for the Heart Dimension H arc, which is closer to an AwardBaitSong, and instead plays ''The Vision Of Telativity'', which is the theme for the entire game as a whole.

** Even more notably, just as Ryuko [[spoiler:blasts off into space to face Ragyou for the final time]] in the last episode, the chorus of the ''first'' opening, "Sirius", plays.

* The Champion theme in ''VideoGame/PokemonSunAndMoon'' takes its opening riff from the opening of the original opening theme of ''VideoGame/PokemonRedAndBlue''. * In a variation, the re-imagined ''Series/{{Battlestar Galactica|2003}}'' plays a version of the original series' theme during the eponymous ship's last scene on screen.

* ''VideoGame/PerfectDarkZero'' pays homage to its 64-bit roots with a triumphant return of the Carrington Institute/Perfect Dark Theme in the final boss battle against [=dataDyne=] founder Zhang Li as heard ([[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Su7-8XEAkJg here]]). The theme can heard making a brief appearance at the beginning of the tune at 0:04 seconds, only to reappear in its full glory at 1:50.

* Ostensibly due to plagiarism, the [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zqqq8uqSDnk Theme to Metal Gear Solid]] (and ''VideoGame/MetalGearSolid2SonsOfLiberty'') was not present at the start of ''VideoGame/MetalGearSolid3SnakeEater''. However, it comes back [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OKlNdzpICW0#t=3m30s gloriously orchestrated]] for the TwistEnding, right at the most powerful part.

* The series finale of "WesternAnimation/GravityFalls" has the whole cast fight off against the Big Bad's minions by turning the Mystery Shack into a giant, Pacific-Rim-esque robot. Of course, a rock version of the shows already incredible main theme starts playing.

Since it's standard practice to make a ThemeSong as [[CrowningMusicOfAwesome awesome]] as possible, said theme likes to find its way into a privileged position in the final battle. At TheClimax of the series, when things are at their most epic, the theme gets played over the show itself. Typically we'll get to hear the verses not played in the opening, and sometimes the whole song is strung together for once.
