* ''WesternAnimation/{{Robots}}'': Rodney Copperbottom proves to be this. His unfailing dedication to his dreams of being an inventor and making Robots better by fixing them and respecting their worth end up inspiring confidence and reinvigorated spirit in many around. This includes his disillusioned role model Bigweld and the pessimistic Crank, who ends up being emboldened by Rodney's dedication and is inspired to try his best to make sure he can save the day after complaining for much of the film.

* ComicBook/DoctorStrange, especially as Sorcerer Supreme (it's practically his job description). If he shows up, things are either about to get a lot better or a whole lot worse.

** Not surprisingly this is part of the job description of the Blue Lanterns who literally channel the power of hope. The relatively few people who can "inspire great hope" has limited their membership quite drastically. The fact that [[spoiler:their planet and Power Battery got blown up]] in ''ComicBook/LightsOut'' doesn't really help.

* ComicBook/TheIncredibleHulk: Used in ''ComicBook/TheIncredibleHulkFutureImperfect'' -- LaResistance from a BadFuture uses a time machine to summon Hulk and ask him to defeat BigBad Maestro, [[spoiler:his [[FutureMeScaresMe evil future self]]]]. This happens again in the ''ComicBook/PlanetHulk'' arc, as Hulk ends up leading a rebellion against the Red King of Sakaar. [[spoiler:[[HopeSpot This one ended]] [[YankTheDogsChain in tears]].]]
* In ''ComicBook/RatMan1989'' this is the difference between a ''real'' superhero and a "man in tights": anyone with a superpower (or even without) can put on a costume and go out to fight crime, but a real superhero never gives up on hope and can inspire it in others... And Rat-Man, in spite of being an idiot with [[JerkWithAHeartOfGold a horrible personality]], is surprisingly good at both accounts, to the point that when a [[Franchise/DragonBall Son Goku]] {{Expy}} beat him up with a rock ''the rock begged for mercy while Rat-Man punched his opponent on the nose'', causing the various Men in Tights to recover their hope and become real superheroes themselves (the first of them, the Man in a Spider Costume, is referred as the ''Superhero'' in a Spider Costume when he intervenes in the fight and saves Rat-Man [[HeroicSacrifice at the cost of his own life]]).

* ''Videogame/StarWarsTheOldRepublic'': This is the way that the Jedi Consular comes across in their story. While the other Jedi class, the Knight, is more the sword of The Republic, defeating enemies and thwarting plans. The Jedi Consular rallies its people and uses their knowledge of The Force to drive the darkside back.

* ''Manga/MariaNoDanzai'': [[SchoolNurse Maria]] seems to be this for victims of bullying; after [[DirtyCoward Kowase]] kicks [[ShrinkingViolet Yajima]] so hard that she [[VomitIndiscretionShot vomits]], then threatens her not to snitch on him when Maria shows up, she is somehow able to genuinely calm down after Maria comforts her. Later, as Kowase is trying to [[SinisterSuffocation drown her]] in his own home, Yajima thinks of Maria while mentally begging for ''someone'' to come save her. [[BigDamnHeroes Cue Maria doing just that]] ([[MysteriousProtector not that Yajima ever finds out]]).

** Among the crew of the original Enterprise, James T. Kirk takes this function, as when he takes the Enterprise back in ''Film/StarTrekTheMotionPicture''

* [[Characters/SamuraiJackJack Jack]], from ''WesternAnimation/SamuraiJack'' is this. Aku had ruled the world for thousands of years, making life [[CrapSackWorld miserable for everyone on it, and it only spread through the galaxy]]. When Jack arrived in the future he began helping others, freeing them from Aku's rule and giving them hope. This is shown best in Season 5 where after spending 50 years in the future, [[spoiler:Jack is no closer to getting home, every time portal has been destroyed, he has lost his sword and]] he has seen his quest as a failure and has begun to feel [[DespairEventHorizon that there is no hope anymore]]. Everyone Jack has helped still believe in him though, even when he doesn't believe in himself, because he has still helped them even in his current state. Come the finale, [[spoiler:Aku has finally captured Jack and [[PublicExecution plans to broadcast his execution]] to [[HopeCrusher kill everyone's hope]], but instead [[BackForTheFinale everyone Jack has ever helped forms into an army]] to [[StormingTheCastle storm Aku's fortress]] and [[RoaringRampageOfRescue rescue Jack]]]].

** The TARDIS, specifically, [[SugarWiki/MostWonderfulSound her characteristic vworping sound]], [[Recap/DoctorWho50thASTheDayOfTheDoctor as described by]] [[spoiler:the Moment]]. Usually, because she's bringing the Doctor.

* ''VideoGame/{{Diablo}}'''s Auriel is the Archangel of Hope, so this trope is natural to her -- several characters, angelic or otherwise, have their spirits renewed once she is freed from Rakanoth's clutches. The Nephalem, i.e. the player character, is also a hope bringer who inspires the human defenders wherever he or she goes to [[AdvantageBall fight more effectively]], by dint of being the only character in the series who isn't eternally [[YouAreTooLate too late]] to stop the demonic schemes.

** One of ''ComicBook/TheSandman1989'''s Endless is Despair, the living antithesis of this trope. She convinced Rao, a red sun, to create life on an unstable planet. Both of them they know that the planet was doomed, and there would be just one single survivor, "to remember, to mourn, to despair...". The planet was Krypton, and that survivor would grow to become Superman. The amount of hope that this failed plan unleashed killed the first Despair. Superman destroyed the AnthropomorphicPersonification of Despair just by ''existing''.

* The protagonist Asher Walters in [[http://www.fanfiction.net/s/7153098/1/The_Chronicles_of_Utopia The Chronicles of Utopia]] is the Knight-Errant of Furyondy and one of Veluna's best generals. Rising through the ranks during the two world wars against the Big Bad he manages to turn the tide and ultimately defeat the massive army of darkness poised to wipe out all life on the planet, though it does require the help of the gods in the end to pull it off.

* ''WebAnimation/{{Hololive}}'': [=IRyS=], a member of Hololive English, intends on bringing hope via ThePowerOfMusic.

* Aang from ''WesternAnimation/AvatarTheLastAirbender''. The avatar's role down the centuries has always been to restore peace and balance, with plenty of power to back it up. Confirmation that Aang has returned alive is enough to bring immediate hope to the setting's war effort.
* Batman is this for the Gotham City Police Department (well, the non-corrupt parts) in ''WesternAnimation/BatmanTheAnimatedSeries'' and, later on, for the WesternAnimation/JusticeLeague.
** Superman is this for Metropolis, the Justice League, and the entire world.
* Terry from ''WesternAnimation/BatmanBeyond'' is also a great example to the point that in the opening after all the words showing how crapsack things are HOPE flashes onscreen after his face is shown.

* Ladybug and Cat Noir in ''WesternAnimation/MiraculousLadybug'' are this for the city of Paris. They are so beloved that their mere presence against an akumatized villain is enough to rally the spirits of Parisians. One hero from the future even says that Ladybug will become legendary, able to inspire and lead an entire team of heroes to fight whatever is thrown at them. And ''win''.
