You know, it's annoying enough when people put TGWTG quotes in articles, but to mention the quote without actually quoting it is even worse.

* JerkassWoobie: [[YourMileageMayVary A case could be made]] that the Sanderson sisters embody this trope. Yes, trying to suck the life (and physical beauty) out of all the town's children [[{{Understatement}} wasn't a very nice thing to do]]. But who can really blame them? They were ugly and shunned by the other townspeople (with [[MoralDissonance even Thackery Binx feeling free to insult them]]), and plastic surgery certainly wasn't an option for them in their time and place. In addition, they were pitifully stupid, hopelessly outclassed by modern technology and sophistication ("three old hags versus the twentieth century," as Max put it), and doomed to die at dawn if their plan fails. With all that in mind, [[CryForTheDevil it's understandable to get a little misty-eyed when they burn up at the end]].

* TheStinger: A number of them, actually. After we see [[spoiler: Thackery and Emily finally reunited at the gates of Heaven]], the end credits are accompanied by the following: Max and Dani's parents and all the other townspeople stumbling out of the town hall in their costumes, with the dad commenting that "I thought L.A. was a party town!"; Jay and "Ice" still locked in birdcages in the Sandersons' lair, pitifully singing "Row, Row, Row Your Boat" to pass the time; and a final tip-off that [[spoiler: the Sanderson sisters may be NotQuiteDead]].

* TheWoobie: Say what you will about the film, overall, but you just can't help but feel very sorry for poor Binx. The poor kid fights for all his worth to save his little sister, just to fail and then undergoes a painful InvoluntaryShapeshifting into a cat. Then he gets rejected by his father who he was trying to communicate with in his hour of grieving. Finally, and this is the juicy bit, he spends the next few hundreds years, alone, with only his self-appointed duty in keeping the witches from coming back to give him purpose, but otherwise wandering aimlessly through his own personal, eternal hell. The only thing that averts this is from being a full on AndIMustScream that he somehow relearns how to talk as a cat.
