** The free Hork-Bajir's valley sort of counts; at the end of the series, all of the Hork-Bajir left on Earth actually move to Yellowstone, since a big nature reserve actually suits them well. You'd think they would be better suited to Sequoia National Park, since they come from a world of giant trees.

* Literature/ImpossibleCreatures2023: The Archipelago is the last place on Earth where magical creatures live, because it's where the BackgroundMagicField is at its strongest. A long time ago, it was hidden away from the outside world to protect them from human civilisation.

* VideoGame/Palworld has the Wildlife Sanctuaries, which are artificial islands hosting rare mons and items. In contrast to the Safari Zones below, just setting foot on them is considered trespassing and actually trying to catch (or worse, hunt) the Pals present will get you shot on sight by the CityGuards. Fortunately, the species exclusive to the sanctuaries can be found as Field Bosses or bred, allowing you to obtain them legally. They can also be found on the BlackMarket, which is also illegal but not enforced.

On a darker note, however, the Sanctuaries are strangely barren, bordering on rocky wastelands other than large populations of "Beautiful Flowers" from which highly questionable substances are made - [[spoiler:it's implied PIDF Chief Marcus Dryden is using the Sanctuaries' protected (and remote) nature to fund his drug-pushing operations]].
