* ''{{ComicBook/Sabretooth}}'' for [[Characters/GenerationX Monet]] in ''ComicBook/UncannyXMen2015''. He was very protective of her, which she didn't appreciate -usually sneering at him for playing hero or [[DontYouDarePityMe underestimating her, thinking she needs his protection]]. When she's cursed by her brother, she must feed on mutants. Once again, Creed tries to help her, by telling her that her secret is safe and allowing her to feed on him. He ends up helping her do some bad things to keep her secret. During the final chapter, it's revealed Creed left with Monet to continue trying to help her. With the relaunch of ''ComicBook/ResurrXion'', the two are separated, with no explanation given. As of events of the Weapon X series, Creed was living out in the woods by himself -Old Man Logan says he read that Creed disappeared. In Generation X, Monet is shown to still be cursed & feeding on mutants. He tragically was this, if their relationship isn't retconned and becomes an AbortedArc.

* Shoutarou, in ''Series/KamenRiderDouble'', is intensely devoted towards protecting his clients no matter what. This stems from the teachings of [[MentorOccupatonalHazard his dead mentor]]. The sentiment is shared by Akiko in her more heroic moments.

* ''{{ComicBook/Sabretooth}}'' while trying to be [[TheChampion her champion]], seemed to become this for Monet in ''ComicBook/UncannyXMen2015''. He was very protective of Monet, who wasn't appreciative of his efforts -usually scolding him for "playing hero" and [[DontYouDarePityMe seemingly underestimating her abilities]]. When she's cursed by her brother, Emplate, she becomes a vampire -needing to feed on other mutants. Once again, Creed tries to help her, by telling her that her secret is safe and she can feed on him. He wanted to keep her secret until they could find a way to cure her. Monet's instincts take greater hold on her, and she ends up killing Inhumans in Limbo. Creed tried to reason with her, but she lashes out and a brief fight follows. Creed declares he will hurt her -if that's what it takes to help her. But during the fight, his words are revealed to be empty, with Emplate's voice telling Monet that Creed is holding back to avoid hurting her. He eventually helps Monet kill the last Inhuman to keep her secret safe. During the series finale, it's revealed Creed left with Monet to continue trying to help her. ** Brienne of Tarth was in love with Renly Baratheon, who was the first man to treat her with something other than scorn, and swore to guard his life with her own; when he [[spoiler:was murdered by his brother through supernatural means]], she was devastated. While she doesn't seem to be in love with [[spoiler:Jaime Lannister]], the fact that he was the second man to treat her with something other than scorn plus her single-minded devotion to fulfilling the oath she made to him smacks of this trope.
