* In ''WesternAnimation/TheMightyB'', Bessie's middle name is Kajolica, which she's kept hidden from the world not because it sounds ridiculous, but because [[TheScottishTrope merely saying it causes random acts of chaos to occur]].

* In the Archie Comic adaptation of ''Comicbook/SonicTheHedgehog'', Sonic's middle name is Maurice. His parents call him by that name, but he dislikes it. (His first name is implied to be ''more'' embarrassing.)
** It is. WordOfGod said that it's "Olgilvie". Don't worry, they've promised that they'll never, ever bring it up.
* ''Franchise/TheFlash'': Wally West's full name is Wallace Rudolph West.
** Probably due to the fact that it's his father's first name, and his dad was kind of a dick who [[AnythingThatMoves cheated on his wife constantly]] and wasn't terrifically supportive of his son.

** Peter Griffin's middle name is Lowenbrau. For those who don't know, it's a [[GermanPeculiarities German beer]]. Peter pronounces it LOW-en-brow (as did Miller Brewing Co., which made and advertised a licensed version of the beer in the US till 2002), but the German pronunciation would be LO-ven-brow (the actual name of the beer has umlauts over the O and A and is thus pronounced LERV-en-broy).

* It's not presented as being necessarily embarrassing, since she does admit to it without pause, but in ''Literature/TheBabysittersClub'', Dawn's middle name is Read. Absolutely no explanation for where here parents came up with that one is ever offered.

** Not to mention Dorothy Gale [=McShane=], who might pitch some homemade explosives your way if your call her anything but 'Ace'. Her mother's favorite movie was ''Film/TheWizardOfOz'', as you might have guessed. Not like that's any excuse.
