*** There's another candidate in that episode as well. [[spoiler: The Time Lord Victorious]]. Remember this line from back in ''Family of Blood''. "He's like fire and ice and rage. He's like the night, and the storm in the heart of the sun. He's ancient and forever. He burns at the center of time and he can see the turn of the universe." Then contrast this with [[spoiler: coming from the person just described. "But there are laws. There are laws of time. Once upon a time there were people in charge of those laws, but they died. They all died. Do you know who that leaves? Me! It's taken me all these years to realise the laws of time are mine! '''And they will obey me!'''"]]
*** On that note, [[spoiler: remember the Doctor's line from [[Recap/DoctorWhoS31E12ThePandoricaOpens The Pandorica Opens]] about the thing the Pandorica was designed to hold: There was a goblin, or a trickster... Or a warrior... A nameless, terrible thing, soaked in the blood of a billion galaxies. The most feared being in all the cosmos. And nothing could stop it or hold it, or reason with it. One day it would just drop out of the sky and tear down your world. Now, remember what happens in the cliffhanger: it was designed to hold him.]]
*** Terrifyingly, this makes him exactly like [[TheMaster someone else we know]], down to that last line of dialogue. Hell, you could say their entire race counts, seeing that they can frickin' ''create'' Eldritch Abominations.
**** He can move through time and space with little to no effort, known to change shape, well-dressed, mysterious, charming, fond of XanatosGambits . . . The Doctor, (and for that matter, the Master), [[spoiler: particularly towards the end of Waters of Mars]] is really not a million miles away from being Nyarlathotep.

* One Donald Duck issue revealed that a giant octopus called Ar-Finn sleeps beneath the depths in a sunken city (Cthulhu and R'lyeh anyone?). Our reality (or at least Donald's) exists only because Ar-Finn dreams about it. But if he wakes up, the world will start to adapt to his image, with the architecture becoming more and more alien and the people more octopoid in appearance. It was awfully cynical for a Disney story, especially the ending, where Donald is horrified to find out that [[SchrodingersButterfly our whole existence is just a dream]]. Probably as close to Lovecraftian standards as Disney will come for the foreseeable future.

Ideas you find disturbing aren't necessarily Eldritch Anominations. Unless people have actually gouged out their eyes, rather than look at the T-shirt, it's not really abominable enough, and cotton isn't exacty an eldritch material.

**** Although the fact that Zeus was willing to fight it says volumes for the guy's courage. And his re-entry into the fight was pretty awesome in its own right, too - he jumps off Olympus and started hurling thunderbolts before the inevitable end-battle finale of ''beating the thing over the head with an entire mountain'', hitting him so hard that he ''sent him all the way down into Tartarus''. Deleted the Unholy War bit in the comics section. Marvel has yet to announce anything resembling it, and TV Tropes isn't a speculation source.

** [[spoiler:Said universe]] becomes the main enemy in TheThanosImperative
* For the last few years Marvel is delivering clues about an upcoming ''Unholy War'' event that is supposed to change Marvel's magic in a similar manner that {{Annihilation}} did it with Marvel's space. One of them was Mephisto mentioning, while standing next to something that could be considered an EldritchAbomination itself, that the upcoming conflict involves beings so terrible even he dares not to speak of them. Mephisto, a demon who has it's own hell, and is born either from part of a being equal to the Abstracts or what's left from Elder Gods (themselves abominations as mentioned above) killed thousands of years ago, who fought with Galactus and is the best candidate for Marvel's {{Satan}} is afraid to even mention them? If that's not EldritchAbomination with a serious overload of HighOctaneNightmareFuel, I don't know what is.
