** [[TheAce Satoru Gojo]], the strongest Sorcerer alive, has a rather mesmerising Domain called "[[PowerOfTheVoid Unlimited Void]]", which manifests as a literal, swirling void of infinity. Whilst trapped within it, the target becomes overwhelmed with a never-ending stream of new information and sensations, effectively paralyzing them indefinitely and eventually causing them to die. Though Curses can last for a bit longer than humans, it's still possibly the single strongest use of Cursed Energy introduced in the story thus far.
** [[PersonOfMassDestruction Jogo]], the Disaster Curse of Fire and Earth, has "Coffin of Iron Mountain", which takes the form of [[VolcanoLair the crater of an active volcano]] and instantly incinerates almost anyone caught within it, without Jogo having to use any additional Techniques. Even being exposed to its effects for 0.2 seconds can leave a normal human unable to function for at least two months.

** [[PersonOfMassDestruction Jogo]], the Disaster Curse of Fire and Earth, has "Coffin of Iron Mountain", which takes the form of [[VolcanoLair the crater of an active volcano]] and instantly incinerates almost anyone caught within it, without Jogo having to use any additional Techniques.

** [[TheDreaded Ryomen Sukuna]], the revered King of Curses, is the first character to properly introduce the concept of a Domain Expansion by flexing it on a far less powerful Curse to demonstrate how completely outclassed it is. His Domain, "[[NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast Malevolent Shrine]]", takes the form of a corrupted, demonic Buddhist shrine seated upon an isle of skulls amid a lake of black water. [[spoiler: Distinct from all other Domains, Sukuna can project Malevolent Shrine onto the real world instead of a closed-off spatial pocket. As this technically doesn't cut off his targets' escape route, Sukuna's victims are forced into a "[[MagicallyBindingContract Binding Vow]]" with him - increasing the sure-hit effect's range to a stupendous two-hundred meters, more then enough to level a city]].

Not that most viewers would've seen it, since Gojo interrupted it from being cast at all in the actual series. The domain's name, ability, and appearance were only revealed in the official fanbook, an interview, and a mobile game of all things respectively.

* ''Manga/GushingOverMagicalGirls'': Korisu Morino/Nero Alice can transport herself and/or others into a dollhouse or other play set. She can do things like bring the toys inside to life, render her prisoner's powers ineffective, and even affect their memories and personality. By using a hospital set, she was able to turn into a competent doctor. Her weakness is that her power uses up so much energy that she can pass out or fall asleep, which automatically ends the effect and ejects everyone from the play set. Her play sets can also be broken out of with enough brute force.

* ''Manga/{{Beelzebub}}'': Chapter 135 introduces a character who can do this in his 'gameroom', causing all damage dished out inside to rebound on the attacker. To get past his gameroom, they need to solve a series of puzzles, including sudoku.

** The domains of the Endless work this way, as seen when Azazel believes himself to have devoured Dream in the center of his own palace, only to find himself in a jar in Dream's hand. The Dreaming is extremely [[DreamWeaver malleable]] by it's nature, but the other Endless are believed to have similar control over their domains, as suggested when Delirium threatens to render Dream unable to leave when he visits her domain while she's in a foul mood.

* In ''Manga/{{Bleach}}'', Yukio Hans Vorarlberna could put people inside video games, where he could control everything, including gravity and time. However, he was just as bound to the rules of the video game as anyone else.

* ''Manga/JujutsuKaisen'': Among both Sorcerers and Cursed Spirits, the mark of a true Jujutsu prodigy is the ability to perform Domain Expansion: a localized pocket of space overwritten with their MentalWorld, constructed from the user's Cursed Energy and imbued with an aspect of their inborn Innate Technique. Within their Domain, the user's own Cursed Techniques are amplified manyfold and guaranteed to always hit their target, whilst any opponent trapped within can only hope to either take the blow and push through with ludicrous amounts of defensive charms, or try and project their own Domain Expansion to "out-push" that of their enemy - in such a case, the respective amounts of stored-up Cursed Energy determine which Domain succeeds in pushing through the other. Escaping a Domain is practically impossible, although breaking into them from the outside is comparatively simple - then again, unless your name is Yuuji Itadori, doing so would be exceptionally stupid and counter-productive, as it equates to willingly handing your enemy all the cards in your hand. Several major characters within the story have shown the capacity to project their Domain Expansions already, to signify their incredible power levels:

* ''Manga/SoulHunter'' has the Juttenkun from Kingo Islands: their unique Paopei are known as Zetsujin, and consist in a pocket dimension in which they're (almost) invincible and can manipulate the interior to defeat intruders. Most of them simply rely on ElementalPowers (Namely, [[PlayingWithFire flames]], [[BlowYouAway hurricane]] combined with RazorFloss, [[SandBlaster sand]], [[AnIcePerson blizzards]] and [[LightEmUp light]], but three of them are atypical (One emloys soul-destroying PaperTalisman drones, one manipulate /[[ForcedTransformation turns people into]]/toys and one creates corrosive mist from his own [[BloodyMurder blood]]).

** [[HumanoidAbomination Mahito]], the Disaster Curse of Humans, eventually develops his Domain, the "[[EldritchLocation Self-Embodiment of Perfection]]", a mostly featurless black nothingness lined with strings of massive, interlocked hands forming flower-like patterns, making anyone within the Domain literally within the palm of Mahito's hand(s). And, seeing as Mahito's primary weapon is his grisly TouchOfDeath...

* In ''WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic'', King Sombra seems able to warp the Crystal Empire's physics to his liking. First off, he turns the whole place into a {{Mordor}}, complete with a RedSkyTakeWarning. Then, when Celestia and Luna invoke SealedEvilInACan on him, he makes the whole place vanish as well until his return -- effectively giving 1) them a PyrrhicVictory at best and 2) himself a window of opportunity to just pick up from where he left off. And later, when Twilight and Spike look for the Crystal Heart (his AchillesHeel), they learn that he preemptively turned part of the Crystal Castle into a {{Pocket Dimension}}al system of {{Absurdly Long Stairway}}s and BlackMagic traps to hide said Heart behind.

* ''LightNovel/ACertainMagicalIndex'': Esper powers function by projecting an "AIM Diffusion Field"[[note]]short for "An Involuntary Movement"[[/note]] in which the esper has narrow control over the laws of physics. The exact properties of an AIM Field vary depending on the esper - [[ShockAndAwe Misaka Mikoto]] has a wide and diffuse field that doubles as a PsychicRadar, while [[WorldsStrongestMan Accelerator]]'s hugs his body like armour and is dense enough to make him ResistantToMagic. Academy City is filled with so many espers that their overlapping AIM creates a sort of BackgroundMagicField which a number of {{Mad Scientist}}s attempt to exploit. In particular, the MISAKA network (a HiveMind of thousands of Mikoto clones) have been used as part of plans to blanket the entire world in a giant AIM field, and/or to hijack all the ambient AIM of Academy City "by consensus vote" in order to perform dramatic feats of RealityWarping.

* ''Manga/BlackClover'' has Mana Zone, a technique that skilled mages use to control the mana in the area around them, increasing spells' power and range and attacking from any direction.

* ''Manga/OnePiece'':
** This is the essence of Trafalgar Law's Op-Op Devil Fruit ability, as it allows him to create a spherical space called "Room", where he can manipulate and modify everything inside. The concept of this power is based on the analogy of a surgeon (i.e. Law) having full control of his patients (i.e. everything) inside an operating room (i.e. the spherical space).
** Capone "Gang" Bege's body is BiggerOnTheInside, and he naturally controls everything inside it.

* In ''Manga/UshioAndTora'', some powerful {{Youkai}} can conjure a "Kekkai" (Think of a tridimensional barrier), usually undetectable and unbreachable from the outside. The first example is the [[CreepyCentipedes Stone Eater]], a demon who traps his victims inside his Kekkai and slowly turns them to stone before consuming them bit by bit.
* ''Manga/YuYuHakusho'': Some characters can establish their own rules in a defined volume of space. This is called their "territory".

** [[TheDragon Mankar Camoran]] has one of these in ''[[VideoGame/TheElderScrollsIVOblivion Oblivion]]'' called Paradise. It is anything but.

** It was later explained in the manga that Domain Expansion used to be far more common among sorcerer because they usually didn't incorporate the AlwaysAccurateAttack part of the technique that makes it so taxing in curse energy. Such a lesser version of a domain is used by [[CrusadingLawyer Hiromi Higuruma]] to create [[ScalesOfJustice Deadly Sentencing]], a courtroom where violence is not permitted by either side and the opponent stands as the defendant being judged for [[OmniscientDatabasean infraction randomly selected within their past]]. Should they fail to defend themselves, Higuruma is granted the power to deal the sentence himself.
