** Not to mention, now kidnapping her is a liability for Bowser, despite his ignorance of it. Holding Peach hostage causes Bowser's unintentionally suicidal attempts to conquer the universe in the SuperMarioGalaxy games to backfire as they inevitably allow Mario a better chance to defeat Bowser again and again. In a way, it makes it ''[[KingKong beauty killed the beast]]'', though Mario leaves Bowser alive anyway when defeating him.

*** That does nothing for the fact that she was TheLoad. For the entire movie, she did nothing but scream and, from anyone's view, apparently couldn't walk because Tom Cruise's character has to carry her around most of the time. And then there's the fact that her getting in "danger" (as in a group of people trying to get her to safety) and nearly ended up getting her brother killed after her father was forced to save her instead.

Once she got out of the room she was held in (she managed to pull an airvent escape until the airvent was shot down) gun fighting started, and she was too busy not being shot to escape. She did try, but what would you do if you were next to two gangs gun fighting? She does actually manage to avoid a team of assains for a while and created a plan to retrieve a set of armor with no batteries which did succeed at the end of the day.

That's a total of zero kidnappings, one family dispute, being attacked once (in public, lacking the idiocy that most of these involve), and dying. I think every other major character in the series has a worse record than that

** Tara was just as bad as Dawn. She was beaten down by her family who told her she was a demon, and needed to be rescued by ...everyone. Then Glory kidnapped her. Then finally Warren shot her while aiming for Buffy. Tara was like a recipe for plot padding, tear jerking, and hot lesbian reunion scenes.

*** Of course, it doesn't help that the stern lecture Rinoa gets for coming up with her incredibly stupid plan (giving an evil witch a famous type of jewelry as a present and assuming she's stupid enough to not realize it blocks her magic powers, ''and to continue wearing it'' once she realizes) doesn't stop her from trying to ''follow through'' with it, ''by herself'', and the player is treated to am [[ScrappyLevel obnoxious sewer dungeon]] because the character who gave her the stern lecture feels bad for being mean to her and goes back to apologize. This is followed by a Rescue Mission where the player has to save Rinoa from the consequences of the actions she was explicitly told by a qualified mercenary would get her in trouble. It's hard for a player to sympathize with a character who goes to that much trouble to be a pain in the ass.

* One of the reasons why Akane Tendo from [[RanmaOneHalf Ranma 1/2]] is considered by some to be a BaseBreaker is the fact that, sometimes, she comes off as one of these. It's not that she gets kidnapped a lot (in fact, Ranma Saotome himself is actually kidnapped more frequently then she is), but she does get into trouble frequently, often because of her own issues (temper tantrums, pride and blind distrust of Ranma/trust of her enemies, mainly), and usually ends up contributing nothing positive to the experience. The very earliest examples of this are the [[MartialArtsAndCrafts Martial Arts Rhythmic Gymnastics and Martial Arts Figure Skating]] stories.
