* ''One of Us'': A blackmail victim in this thriller novel has built his entire acting career out of the fact that he's one of these, combined with the constant arguments over whether he should have to come out of the closet or whether he's free to "pretend" he's straight. The main character observes that he's being blackmailed for his "lack of a secret."

** Tamaki Suoh. But then again, he's the self-proclaimed "[[TeamDad Dad]]" to the group, while Kyouya's the "[[TeamMom Mom]]". Make of that what you will.

A Camp Straight is a man who exhibits some or all of the common characteristics of a CampGay but is clearly heterosexual - in other words, he's so much like a woman that he can't help but be attracted to them. He either has a girlfriend or only shows sexual attraction towards women despite his flamboyance.

* Pegasus from ''Anime/YuGiOh'' [[spoiler:In fact, his being straight is part of his whole motivation - he's trying to revive his dead lover, Cyndia/Cecellia.]] Yet he still manages to be the most fabulous character on the show.

In contrast, his servant Croquet is a StraightGay (hence why Bakura's "Gaydar" points towards Pegasus' castle).

** Jafar as well, particularly when he's singing. Just listen to "[[WesternAnimation/AladdinTheReturnOfJafar You're Only Second Rate]]" - that ''can't'' be a straight man singing, can it? Yet, [[IHaveYouNowMyPretty his interactions with Jasmine]] are [[NoYay creepy]] enough that he's clearly attracted to girls, at the very least.

* There have been various other wrestlers - Wrestling/RicFlair, Wrestling/AJStyles, Wrestling/ShawnMichaels, to name a few - who have adopted slightly effeminate costumes and mannerisms over the years just to be "flashy" or "rebellious," but are otherwise perfectly straight. Though Shawn did have periods as a GorgeousGeorge before WWE admitted what he ''really'' wanted was a tender little lady.

* [[Creator/SamRiegel Sam]] is the one male actor in the cast of ''WebVideo/CriticalRole'' most likely to show up sharply dressed to regular sessions and has worn various ''extremely'' campy / drag-adjacent costumes for live shows at Gen Con (so far: the skin-tight yellow bodysuit from ''Film/KillBill''; a skin-tight, hot pink, glittery body with giant shoulder pads, heavy effect makeup, rollerskates and a glowing lightbulb in his crotch; and a golden, LED-studded, winged ''thing'' straight out of ''Film/TheAdventuresOfPriscillaQueenOfTheDesert'' complete with a feather headpiece, gogo boots, and a giant codpiece...). He loves and has worked in musical theatre since he was a child. All his long-term characters on the show so far have been queer or a case of vocal cross-dressing[[note]]Scanlan's past sexual dalliances with men were only alluded to in jokes and he was much more focussed on ladies, but still, he didn't mind getting kissed by Vax and the love potion wouldn't have worked if he wasn't at least potentially attracted to Percy. Then Sam decided to play Taryon as a gay man, if closeted and celibate during most of the period he was with Vox Machina. And then there's the female Nott in campaign 2, who has an estranged husband that she still loves.[[/note]]. And of course, he loves to pretend that he and [[Creator/LiamOBrien Liam]] are in a sexual relationship and/or married - just for the sake of [[QueerPeopleAreFunny comedy]]. (Or possibly because he has a bit of trouble dealing with Liam's cuddly nature and absolutely genuine declarations of [[HeterosexualLifePartners platonic affection]], but since laughing in embarrassment in such a moment would be cruel, he reacts by turning the bromance up to eleven and making statements that are obviously untrue, so that it's okay to laugh about it.) In any case, both guys identify as straight and have a wife and kids.

** The entire Host Club qualifies in some regard, with the exception of [[OnlySaneMan Haruhi]] [[{{Bifauxnen}} Fujioka]] and [[RatedMForManly Takashi Morinozuka]].

He's seen as a vain {{Prettyboy}} who's very concerned about his hair, regularly gets facials, knows about what cream to use on his skin and was even a ''cheerleader'' in high school. Yet, he's as big as a ladykilling StrawMisogynist as every other No Ma'am member (even as the [[MasculineGirlFeminineBoy gentler side to his marriage to Marcy.]])

* ''Series/ForAllMankind'': Gender inverted with Molly Cobb, the first American woman in space in this series' AlternateHistory. She's an expert pilot who avoids a lot of the features that code for femininity in the 1960s/'70s period, and there are apparently in-setting rumors that she's a lesbian -- but she turns out to be happily married to a man. Her husband has Camp Straight tendencies himself, and when she tells him someone thought she was a lesbian, he jokes that "I've often thought of ''myself'' as a lesbian."

* ''Series/ForAllMankind'': Gender inverted with Molly Cobb, the first American woman in space in this series' AlternateHistory. She's an expert pilot who avoids a lot of the features that code for femininity in the 1960s/'70s period, and there are apparently in-setting rumors that she's a lesbian -- but she turns out to be happily married.

* Prince Charming of ''WesternAnimation/{{Shrek}}''. Even though he displayed a lot of campy behavior, he showed a decent amount of attraction towards Princess Fiona. However, this is mostly due to her royal status. He does seem to have a relationship with Rapunzel in ''WesternAnimation/ShrekTheThird''.

* James of ''Anime/{{Pokemon}}''. He's flamboyant, campy, and crossdresses, but has shown interest in the opposite gender several times. Compare his taste in PaperThinDisguise to that of his female partner in crime [[https://gamerisms.tumblr.com/post/13925964128/gaminginpink-rosejailmaiden as shown here.]] Okay, there were those "Flaming Moltres" jokes...

* Despite what CommonKnowledge may say, not ''every'' member of ultra-campy Music/TheVillagePeople is gay. Straight members of the group include lead singer Victor Willis and the late Glenn "{{Leatherman}}" Hughes.

** Raj, so much so that he is often MistakenForGay. He enjoys chick flicks, ''Literature/{{Twilight}}'', girly music, etc., has several pretty blatant HoYay and even a HeterosexualLifePartner but is shown at various points flirting with attractive women, including Creator/SummerGlau, and in one episode he sleeps with Penny. Just sleeps. [[spoiler:Would've been sex, but he got so excited, he ejaculated before anything happened.]]

* Odd Della Robbia from ''WesternAnimation/CodeLyoko''. Dresses in clashing yellow, pink, and purple, wears a ''[[BareYourMidriff belly shirt]]'' (granted he wears another shirt under it, but sometimes the animators don't colour it in properly), dyes and styles his hair, acts very [[CampGay campy]], [[{{Keet}} speaks in a high-pitched voice]], his Lyoko form is a ''[[CatGirl catboy]]''... and he's dated [[KidAnova just about every girl in his class, and a few outside of it]].

Monarch in turn witnesses the trope first hand when he is utterly dumbfounded when he spots a member of Music/DepecheMode showing up at a party with a girl.

Monarch in turn witnesses the trope first hand when he is utterly dumbfounded when he spots a member of Music/DepecheMode showing up at a party with a girl.

** The Monarch. This is also brought up when he expresses his disbelief at someone from Depeche Mode showing up at a party with a girl.

Some shows purposely do this to [[GettingCrapPastTheRadar insert a gay character]] (or increasingly to insert a ''[[OnceAcceptableTargets stereotypical]]'' gay character) without annoying the MoralGuardians. Today such a person is considered a Metrosexual, a straight person who acts gay. This kind of character also has some ValuesDissonance involved. In the past, this kind of behavior was associated with people like TheDandy, and it was a symptom of them being [[TheCasanova ladykillers]]. In newer works, this character is more often used for AnAesop about judging people by appearance.

* Noah in ''Webcomic/ElGoonishShive''. Elliot has trouble pegging him as a guy at first and is astonished to hear he has a girlfriend. (However his discription of [[https://www.egscomics.com/comic/2010-03-31 how his relationship with his girlfriend works] seems rather familiar in the context of the strip, and may indicate he's more of a Camp Ace.)
