* {{Merlin}} has a magical sidhe staff, that fires a blast of magical energy that can even kill a [[TheFairFolk sidhe]]. Despite it being a cool and effective weapon, he's only used it in three episodes (''The Gates of Avalon'', ''To Kill The King'' and ''The Changeling'').

* [[MagicalGirlLyricalNanoha Raising Heart and company]] become increasingly like guns as the series goes on, even getting clips and cartridges.

* Bangsticks, designed to be used by divers to defend against large predators like sharks, are a spear with a waterproofed (rubber or varnish coated) shotgun shell or bullet welded to the end, and a firing mechanism activated by stabbing something with it.

** A typical Bangstick or Power Head is nowhere near as primitive as a cartridge welded to the end of a spear shaft. In fact, many modern ones can be reloaded with ease. They are loaded with blank cartridges, and they kill by the direct trauma inflicted by the hot, expanding gunpowder entering the target. Also, they are not merely used for self-defense against sharks, but also for shark fishing. They are even used on alligators. * Various Droids in StarWarsCloneWars wield staff with some kind of electric stunner at both ends.
** According to various EU sources, these are "force pikes" (nothing to do with TheForce) and are basically a cross between a staff and a taser.
** Also, the taser/stunner part can be used to block [[LaserBlade lightsaber]] swings.

** They do demonstrate that the weapon is very good for mass fire techniques. Take about a dozen Jaffa and overlap their fire, and everything in their path dies.

** There are also a couple of examples like the weapons of the Adeptus Custodes and the Warscythes of Necron Pariahs (but not the Necron Lord ones, oddly), both of which combine a polearm with a gun- a bolter in the case of the Custodes (I think) and some sort of zappy Gauss weapon for the Necrons.
*** The guns in Custodes' polearms are storm bolters, which is a type of boltgun (ingame they are assault 2 weapons instead of rapid fire weapons like the standard bolter, so the user can assault an enemy on the turn it's fired).
*** Weeell... only in the Sabertooth CCG, and the stuff that deliberately references that. Originally (and in material that ignores the Sabertooth stuff as "too much Merrett, too little merit"), the Custodes' Guardian Spear contained a miniaturised [[FrickinLaserBeams lascannon]]. Yes, it still had the power of the galaxy's go-to anti-tank gun, despite being less than 1/8th the size, because the Custodes are just that awesome. The Necron Lords do get the option of taking a Staff of Light as well (which shoots lightning, if this troper remembers correctly).
** The Kroot Rifle is a borderline example: it's more rifle-shaped than other examples, but it's still designed to allow the user to wield it as a staff in close combat (also includes a large bayonet to further enhance its effectiveness in melee).
*** It's got a long blade sticking down off the stock and the barrel, making it a truly nasty looking quarterstaff in melee. Because of this, it gives the kroot the 2 weapons bonus attack in close combat.
* Warhammer Fantasy has a few bound spell magic items (items that allow any character to have a single auto-use spell every turn in addition to other spells) that take the form of staffs, but this troper has not encountered one that contains an attack spell yet.
** The [[LizardFolk Lizardmen]] [[{{Sourcebook}} army book]] has two.

* ''AngelBlade'' has the villains (all female) pull these out... but it's a {{Hentai}}, [[GagPenis s]][[{{Hermaphrodite}} o]...

* In ''{{GURPS}}: High-Tech'' there is a baton like weapon that can fire a single shotgun shell, apparently based on a real device.
