The second arc was about a tournament between the Seven Cities of Heaven and their Immortal Weapons. May actually be a minor subversion, as while he's certainly still wearing the robe when he fights, [[spoiler:he turns into omnipresent green mist that seems to beat the shit out of his opponent from all sides]].
