** Daenerys swoons over the dashing badboy Daario even though she realizes that he's a murderous, opportunistic sellsword. On the other hand, she repeatedly fends off the advances of her devoted and loyal bodyguard Jorah because he's middle-aged, plain and not particularly exciting. (Then again, he's also a slaver who creepily feels Dany up without her permission, as well as spying on her, so it's more a case of NiceGuysFinishLast.)

It's played straight with Quentyn Martell, though. (Although even then, Daenerys was already married and calling it off would have been a political disaster.)

* Series/Daredevil2015: The relationship between Wilson Fisk and his mistress Vanessa Marianna can only be described as this. Vanessa decides that the fact that Fisk is a dangerous sociopath and murderer is actually a plus. If nothing else, it means he will definitely keep her safe. And while it initially seems like she's going to humanize Fisk, his relationship and his desire to protect her from his criminal activities lead him to committing even more violent acts which she encourages.

* In Chapter 29 of Fanfic/IAmNOTGoingThroughPubertyAgain, Sasuke muses a WallOfText on how he not only finds this trope stupid but insulting.
-->Sasuke didn't see himself as a charming person. He had no idea what all those girls saw in him, to be frank. He was bitter, asocial, wrapped in darkness and scarred by grief. The phrase "damaged goods" surely existed solely to describe people like himself.\\
He was not the kind of person that he thought a smart or self-respecting girl should pursue. Couldn't they see how messed up he was? How dangerous a path he would have to walk?\\
It galled Sasuke that so many girls should be so smitten with him. It felt insulting, somehow, like their infatuation devalued the tragedy of his clan's destruction, romanticizing his pain and frustration into an unrecognizable caricature of the person he really was.\\
Their smiling, giggling, blushing, and cooing all angered him. Like they saw it all as one big game, like they didn't take anything seriously. They didn't get it. They refused to understand.

* Frequently deconstructed or subverted in "Fanfic/TheLightInTheDark": Deconstructed with Bertha's and Florence's infatuation with Alton Avery. Subverted by Maria Zabini, who is either drowning in denial or genuinely believes that Mulciber is really a good person. Snape seems to believe this, as he thinks that becoming a powerful dark wizard will make Lily attracted to him. Mrs. Jorkins has been going out with Terrance Banks for years, who's a complete scoundrel. This may or may not have been what attracted Eileen Prince to Tobias Snape, who is most certainly a bad man. Averted with Lily, who hates James' bullying and is weary of Snape's growing interest in the Dark Arts.

Sometimes the badness is an InformedAttribute, such as with the LovableRogue. It all depends on what the author wants to use this trope for. Sometimes a supposed bad boy who really isn't has to deal with the advances of a hyperactive FanGirl who doesn't know when to cut-it-out resulting in comedy at the bad boy's expense.

* Subverted in VideoGame/Gungrave anime. Maria likes Brandon not because of his bad boy image; instead, she immediately falls for him when he saves her from some hoodlums. Unfortunately, said profession becomes a problem when Uncle Jester (Maria's guardian/foster father) sees him walking home with Maria.
* Subverted in Manga/AssassinationClassroom where the girls are discussing who is the most attractive boy in the class. Troublemaker and BullyHunter Karma comes up...only for them to declare he'd only be desirable if he wasn't such a delinquent.
* Manga/KamisamaKiss lives this trope. The lead male, Tomoe, is a snarky, rude and conniving fox demon. His main rival, Kurama, is a narcissistic, manipulative and perverted crow tengu. And yet, TheHeroine, Nanami, is involved in a complicated love story with these guys, primarily Tomoe. To be fair, in all cases the boys are Jerks With Hearts Of Gold and Tomoe in particular is quite kind and caring underneath his gruff and rude exterior.

* Played with in Comicbook/FantasticFour; Sue Storm is endlessly pursued by bad boy AntiHero Prince Namor the Comicbook/SubMariner of Atlantis, who isn't exactly shy about letting her know that he has the hots for her, but consistently turns him down in favor of geeky, slightly clueless Reed Richards. Needless to say, the two men don't exactly have a warm friendship. Depending on who's writing her, Sue reacts to Namor's attentions with either barely-concealed interest (which is closer to the spirit of the trope, although she nevertheless continues to spurn him out of loyalty to Reed) or outright irritation. Interestingly, sometimes Reed is on the badboy side, though when Reed is bad, he's more of a CorruptCorporateExecutive than a 100% Bad Boy. There are times when Sue admits that she feels attraction for Namor.
