Added DiffLines:

* ArtShift: There are several notable differences between the character designs in [=NightlineZ=]'s cover & Renz's interior artworks: The former tends to draw Beast-Kin with longer, animal-like snouts, while the latter gives them somewhat flatter, more humanoid faces. The colouring is different too, as Renz gives Verse a bluish-purple fur colour, while [=NightlineZ=] draws her with a more magenta-ish tone. Renz's art tends to match more closely with the book's descriptions.
** The interior art has changed quite a bit over the course of the series, too. ''Shifting Tides'' alone has 4 different art-styles:
*** 1: sketchy linework as seen when Verse sees Basil & Karina for the first time
*** 2: slightly less sketchy art as seen in flashbacks to Verse's past
*** 3: Art with smoother linework & colouring (or shading, as the books are printed in black & white), used in most illustrations
*** 4: and art with smooth linework & no colouring (seen exclusively in the epilogue)
** ''Hunted Truths'' drops styles 1 & 2 entirely, and ''Awakened Gods'' has only style 4, with no colouring. Most likely due to the coloured art not printing very well in black & white.

* InconsistentEpisodeLengths: The page count between each book varies wildly: ''Shifting Tides'' is 477 pages long, ''Hunted Truths'' is drastically shorter, being little over half the length at just 281 pages, while ''Awakened Gods'', is back up to 416 pages long.
**This goes for the accompanying concept albums, too, with ''Shifting Tides'' being a staggering 8 1/4 hours long, ''Hunted Truths'' being around 3 3/4 hours long, and ''Awakened Gods'' being 4 3/4 hours long. Just imagine what a physical release of the soundtracks would be like...

Elancia Chronicles is an ongoing series of LGBT furry fantasy adventure novels written by Creator/LeilaniRaeWilson. The story follows an apathetic and amnesiac Fox-kin pirate named Verse, on a journey to find her missing memories, resolve her inner turmoil and survive in a harsh world on the verge of collapsing.

!! Works in the Elancia Chronicles series:
*Literature/SymphonyOfShiftingTides
*Literature/HuntedTruths
*Literature/SymphonyOfAwakenedGods
and a currently unreleased fourth installment

!! Elancia Chronicles contains examples of:
*AmazingTechnicolorWildlife: Verse and Lyrikos both have a blueish-purple fur colour, and Xan's fur is dyed green.
*AntiHero: The main protagonist Verse fits this description, as she has a bad attitude, and is very apathetic.
*AntiMagicalFaction: The Elians consider magic use to be "Devil Worship", and it is outlawed in all Elia-dominated regions, where there is a Main/BanOnMagic.
*BeastMan: The Beast-Kin are all anthropomorphic animals of different types. Out of the main five characters, Verse is a Fox-Kin, Xan is Rabbit-Kin, Cecelia and Basil are both Bat-Kin, and Karina is Dog-Kin.
*BigBad: God-General Syrrko, who is the Leader of the Aegiys and wants to abduct Verse.
*CastFullOfGay: All five main characters (and numerous side characters) fall somewhere on the LGBT+ spectrum.
*CrossoverCameo: Because the author wrote most of the game's soundtrack, Verse makes a cameo appearance in VideoGame/FreedomPlanet2 as a travelling musician in the game's Shang Tu and Parusa areas. She wears a notably different outfit compared to anything in seen in Elancia Chronicles, and has pink instead of purple fur. Verse will also be in the upcoming indie game VideoGame/PiratesOfArzedenzia.
*DreamLand: Verse often has stange, lucid dreams in which she meets with her older sister Lyrikos at her childhood homeland of Qaimusu. This is Verse's way of escaping the horrors of reality, and being able to embrace her femininity without fear.
*EnchantedForest: The 'Sacred Forest' in Celestion has glowing trees, and is inhabited by the wise Chimera folk.
*TheEndOfTheWorldAsWeKnowIt: When element-controlling Gods die in Elancia Chronicles without passing on their powers, this can cause natural disasters to happen as there is nobody to keep the elements in check. In the story, many gods are at war, and so if too many of them die, this could cause a world-ending crisis. This is already in effect at the start of the story as oceans go flat, and eventually turn to sand in a process called "Sea Death".
*EnemyWithin: Verse has nightmares in which a corrupt version of herself tries to seduce her into becoming a monster.
*FamilyThemeNaming: Verse, and everyone else in the McDowell family have music-themed names, such as Aria, and Lyrikos.
*FantasticRacism: Common real-world animal stereotypes are considered racist among Beast-Kin. This includes Skunks being stinky, or Foxes being sneaky.
**Also, the religion of Elianism considers Beast-Kin to be inherently sinful, and mandates that they reject their animalistic traits and act more human.
*FantasyCounterpartReligion: Elianism closely resembles a fantasy version of Christianity, and the Aegiys Pantheon resembles various Pagan religions.
*FantasyWorldMap: Books 2 & 3 contain a map of the Kerlynzian region, while Book 1 does have an official map of Basker, but not illustrated in the book. *ForeignLookingFont: Characters speaking or writing in the Kerlynzian language have their own special font.
*FunetikAksent: Several characters speak in phonetically-spelled accents, including main protagonist Verse, who has a thick Kerlynzian (low-class Commonwealth) accent. Other Characters have accents such as French or Texan.
*FurryConfusion: The series contains both Anthropomorphic animals, and regular versions of them. Anthros are called "Beast-Kin", while regular animals are called "Non-Sent" (sent is short for sentient).
*InterspeciesRomance: Almost every romantic relationship depicted is between two members of different species.
*MidDevelopmentGenreShift: Elancia Chronicles was originally envisioned as a Role-Playing Game, but this didn't work out, and was changed to be literature early on.
*MysteriousPast: Verse is amnesiac, and has huge chunks of her memories missing, which she spends the series trying to recover.
*PhysicalGod: Gods in Elancia are living creatures. The God of Fate and Lamenth, Goddess of the Ocean are the most prominently featured.
*PronounTrouble: Verse's pronouns switch between he/him and she/her depending on how she's currently presenting. The blurbs on the back of each book use they/them pronouns for her.
*QueerMedia: Elancia Chronicles has a plethora of various LGBT characters. Verse's transition and exploration of her sexuality is one of the series' main themes.
*SleevesAreForWimps: Xan always wears his coats with only one sleeve on, and the other behind his back.
*TransTribulations: One of the series' main themes, as Verse is a Transgender character living in an intolerant world.
*VirtualSoundtrack: Each novel has an accompanying Concept Album. [[https://soundcloud.com/leilani-r-wilson/sets/ec-shiftingtides]] [[https://soundcloud.com/leilani-r-wilson/sets/symphony-of-hunted-truths]] [[https://soundcloud.com/leilani-r-wilson/sets/symphony-of-awakened-gods]]
