->''"Stick with me, and I'll protect you, because I '''can'''. While you're with me, you'll never have to worry about anything ever again. But first, I'm taking you away from Sacred Valley whether you like it or not. After that, if you want to crawl back here and die, you can do it on your own."''
-->-- '''Wei Shin Lindon Arelius'''

Lindon has finally returned home. He and his friends have come to Sacred Valley with an army of Akura Golds to evacuate everyone in the face of the Wandering Titan. They have plenty of time, so long as the evacuations start immediately.

There's only one problem: No one will listen to them.

As Lindon quickly discovers, there is a massive script circle around the entire Valley that suppresses everything to the level of Jade. It doesn't take long until his entire party are little better than the locals. Despite all his pleading, all his evidence, no one will believe him. Everything must be a trick by their enemies, a ploy to steal their lands and their clan.

Step by step, the Dreadgod grows closer.

Meanwhile, Suriel and the Abidan continue to contend with Vroshir raids. While they cannot do permanent damage to the Abidan themselves, what they are doing is still horrific. Entire Iterations are destroyed, others have their entire populations kidnapped. The Vroshir might be bandits, but they are bandits on a multiversal scale.

And the Mad King is not interested in mere raiding. He wants nothing less than the destruction of the Abidan, and no matter how unlikely that goal is, he can do terrible things reaching for it. He sets his sights on all the most valuable worlds. Fathom, the lynchpin of the sector. Oasis, the paradise.

!!This novel provides examples of:

* EvilCannotComprehendGood: The Heaven's Glory school and the Wei Clan ''cannot'' understand that Lindon would come back for anything but revenge. The idea that he would still want to help them despite everything they've done is completely incomprehensible to them, and an obvious trick.
* {{Foreshadowing}}: Dross mentions early on that [[spoiler:the situation could be worse--there could be ''two'' Dreadgods]]. Guess what happens at the end?
* HeroicSacrifice: [[spoiler:Dross pushes himself too hard to make the illusion that fools the Wandering Titan, resulting in a DeathOfPersonality]].
