* NeutralNoLonger: The Armelia Duchy tries very hard to stay out of the SuccessionCrisis and maintain their neutrality, both to protect themselves from the conflict and maintain the BalanceOfPower to avoid a CivilWar. Ultimately, Alfred's repeated antagonizing of them leaves the duchy with no choice but to side against him.

''Accomplishments of the Duke's Daughter'' (''Kōshaku Reijō no Tashinami'') is a novel series by Reia, which started out as a WebSerialNovel that was released on Shousetsuka ni Narou from 2015 to 2017. It was later published as a series of LightNovels by Fujimi Shobo with illustrations by Futaba Hazuki from 2015 to 2018 for eight volumes, followed by a manga adaptation by Suki Umemiya which began serialization in ''Young Ace Up'' in Decmeber 2015. * ExtremeDoormat: The current king is weak-willed and just sort of exists. He isn't really a tyrant, nor is he doing anything to actually help the situation. He loved his first wife and was sad that she was murdered, but he never had any desire to protect or avenge her. He was also largely ambivalent towards her murderer, his second wife. Prince Alfred knew that if the king learned that his younger sister, Princess Leticia, resembled her mother, the king would dot on her, but likewise, offer her no protection against Ellia, so he lies that Leticia does not resemble their mother, earning the king's indifference and allowing Leticia to hide in obscurity.

** Dorsen is next, but is more resistant because the idea that he may have socially destroyed a really kind and talented young woman for terrible reasons horrifies him. He gets there eventually [[spoiler:but recognizes that Iris is under no obligation to even ''receive'' his apology let alone accept it, so he merely goes on a journey of self improvement to learn to control his temper better.]]

** Earlier, the capture targets are also completely taken in by Yuri's suggestion that the best way to relieve the burden on the kingdom's coffers would be to ''disband the military'', despite the fact that a nearby country has made war with them repeatedly in the past, and they're all in positions to know exactly what a threat Tweil poses.

** Iris is put in charging of managing the ducal fiefdom and does such a fantastic job that her family is seriously considering just skipping Bern for succession entirely. He ''was'' first in line despite being her younger brother, but her sheer talent and effort compared to his wasting his time really shows the difference between them. However, in the end despite being significantly more capable than him it's indicated that she'll be ultimately sidelined, most likely due to her gender. Not that it would matter much for her anyway since she's still a wealthy businesswoman who heads her own very successful conglomerate that has significant influence over the whole fiefdom.
** Played straight with Arya. Her older brother the crown prince died before succeeding the throne, putting her first in line. However, a female monarch was unprecedented, so she quickly made to marry a duke who became the king rather than a prince consort. That being said, she was still probably the more powerful of the two and keeps herself involved in the state of affairs. [[spoiler:Her daughter makes a point of averting this when she takes the crown and makes it explicit that she is the ruling monarch and not her husband.]]

Out of the blue, Iris Lana Armelia suddenly awakens to the memories of her previous life as a Japanese accountant who distracted herself from her lack of love and family by playing otome games. And Iris? She was the villainous rival of an otome game who interfered with the relationship of the young baroness Yuri and prince Edward.
