->'''Tyler:''' ''Hey everybody and welcome back to Super Mario Sunshine Versus! [=I'm AttackingTucans=]!''
->'''Josh:''' ''And I'm Josh Jepson.''
->'''Tyler:''' ''And this time, we're gonna get our vaginas pierced!''

[[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GMASSpDAtnU Super Mario Sunshine Versus]] (aka, "Project Stingray") was a competitive, co-commentary LP of SuperMarioSunshine between JoshJepson and AttackingTucans. The two raced through the game to collect all the [[PlotCoupons Shine Sprites]] and [[LastLousyPoint Blue Coins]] as a [[OneHundredPercentCompletion 100% run.]] All the while they played word games with each other, with Tyler (Tucans) making off-color jokes and Josh taking it all in stride.

Viewers were invited to play along and post their experience on Youtube. For both the two and the viewers, segments had to be no longer than a half hour. However, for a few episodes, they went over by a few minutes, and they allowed their viewers to go over as well.

A second race is going on, with Tyler and {{Donnabellez}} playing ''SuperMarioGalaxy''. This versus is currently ongoing and has a few differences from the previous one, such as being allowed to complete the levels in any order rather than a preset one, as well as having lifelines (see {{Troll}} example under the Mario Galaxy race tropes below).

JoshJepson confirmed on Twitter that a third Versus would be taking place on his channel, this time on ''LuigisMansion'', starting June 29th 2012. The race ended on August 17th 2012, with [[spoiler: Josh]] as the winner. Due to similarity to ''Sunshine Versus'' tropes for those will go here too.

On 2/2/2013, Tyler and Josh announced their own channel and an official name for their collective versus, "Project Rivals", find it [[http://www.youtube.com/versus here]]. With this new channel, they also announced a new versus, this time in ''SuperMario64''.

They later announced a second versus for their new channel: ''VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaOcarinaOfTime''. The nature of the versus is slightly different from the traditional formula. Instead of racing to see who can complete the game first, the players are competing to see who can finish a dungeon the fastest. Whoever finishes a dungeon first gets one point. The overall winner is the player with the most points.

!!The various Versus [=LPs=] contain examples of the following tropes:
[[foldercontrol]]

[[folder: Project Stingray/Super Mario Sunshine Versus]]
* AGodAmI: Josh jokingly states that he and Tyler are gods for finishing a 100% file each in 22 videos without being able to practice or start over.
* AGoodNameForARockBand: The Throbbing Masses.
* AssShove: In Tyler's story, Josh puts dandelions there.
* AtomicFBomb: Josh lets one out in episode 4 when, after getting all 8 red coins in the Blooper Surfing Safari, he jumps past the shine and hits a log, killing him instantly.
* BadLiar:
** Josh claims Tyler is this and he can easily tell when the latter is lying. Subverted, as Tyler is frequently able to trick Josh into believing he is at a bigger disadvantage than he really is.
** They both sometimes invoke this by claiming something, followed by "Or I might be lying".
* BerserkButton: He laughed at first, but Josh seemed to really not appreciate Tyler joking about his grandma.
* BigNo: Tucans lets one out whenever he has an EpicFail.
* BigYes: Like in his own videos, Josh repeats one of these whenever he feels truly accomplished.
* BreadEggsMilkSquick: Frequently.
* BrickJoke: In one episode, Tyler deduces that there is Pianta porn somewhere online. In a different episode, he starts going on an angry rant and mentions it again. See DespairEventHorizon below.
* ButtMonkey:
** Both of them get hit with this, but Josh takes a lot of jokes and accusations from Tyler.
** LetsPlay/{{Lucahjin}} is made fun of on many occasions. Does not count as a TakeThat, they're all friends.
* CallBack: It's not uncommon for Tyler to make a reference to a RunningGag from a previous video.
* CampStraight: Tyler.
* CloudCuckooLander: Tyler especially, but both qualify depending on the situation.
* ClusterFBomb: Even ignoring all the swear words, just count every time that Tyler says "vagina" or "boner". Though Josh also does his share.
* CornerOfWoe: Josh says he's going into one to cry when Tyler reveals that his next versus will have nothing to do with Josh.
* CountryMatters
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: They both have their moments of awesome, despite their usual failures.
* DespairEventHorizon: Tucans parodies this when he starts having excessive amounts of trouble in a certain level. Doubles as a CallBack to two previous jokes.
-->"I hate this project! I hate you! I hate Piantas! I hate their porn! I hate Vagisil! I hate Jesus Grandma! I hate... eating old men!"
* DepartmentOfRedundancyDepartment: Josh calls Tyler out on a case of Redundant Acronym Syndrome when Tyler refers to {{Donnabellez}} as "my BFF forever".
* DissonantSerenity: During the middle of [[spoiler: Tyler]] going through the losers' punishment, the background music suddenly changes from a techno mix to the peaceful [[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaTwilightPrincess Ordon Village]] theme.
* DistantFinale: Some regular videos suffered from ScheduleSlip, though the finale was on schedule. The ''ending video'' meant to wrap up loose ends on the project as a whole, however, came out after a few months.
* DorkHorseCandidate: One camp of fans is on "Team Chuggaaconroy", thinking he will win, despite not being involved in the race at all.
* DudeNotFunny: [[invoked]] Tyler tells what he believes to be a funny story to Josh about these dogs attacking another dog, with the one dog making a screeching noise (which Tyler could imitate). Instead of laughing, Josh was horrified.
* ElSpanishO: Tyler decides that the Spanish version of one-hundred is "El One-Hundred O".
* EpicFail: At least one per episode.
* EvasiveFightThreadEpisode: While each episode ends with one ahead of the other, they're always pretty close and the situation can turn around within minutes of a single episode.
** Even when one of them won in the end, it was close.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: In one episode, the commentary had to be muted for a few moments due to content. Given what the two talk about on a regular basis, that's saying something.
* FelonyMisdemeanor: Having the game's audio play for both players instead of whichever one is in the lead.
* ForegoneConclusion: [[spoiler: Josh]] was ahead by a lot in the penultimate episode, it wasn't really much of a surprise when he won, though it was pretty close.
* GenrePopularizer: Of the Splitscreen versus genre subtype of LetsPlay, which were present but really starting springing up after the project finished.
* HaHaHaNo: Josh does this a couple of times during their game of 20 Questions.
* HeroicBSOD:
** Tyler has a short one when he thinks he's trapped himself in an inescapable part of the level after going there before getting all of the red coins, thinking he did.
** Josh also has a short one when he glitches and ends up below the level. He has an even bigger one much earlier, when he loses the bananas Mario was supposed to deliver, on the ''inside of a vat''.
* HotterAndSexier: What Josh's sentences are once he changes a word when playing the 'Bop' game.
* HypocriticalHumor: [[SirSwearsALot Tyler]] calls Josh out on cursing once or twice.
* IAmAHumanitarian: Josh apparently eats old men.
* ImmodestOrgasm: Tyler tries to make this kind of sound on occasion.
* LameComeback: Josh decides to call Tyler "Toucan Sam" because of his username. The best Tyler can come up with in response is "Well, ''you're'' Josh...Junk...son."
* LargeHam: Both of them.
* LastLousyPoint: In Episode 18, Tyler collects all 100 Coins in Pianta Village...[[CrowningMomentofFunny and then jumps over the Shine and falls off the level.]]
* ManChild: Tucans.
* MemeticMolester: InUniverse, Josh's feelings toward Tyler Perry.
* MindScrew: Episode 19 is this for both Josh and Tyler, thanks to each other.
* MusicalEpisode: Episode 17 was apparently going to be this, but they ended up not going with that.
* NWordPrivileges: Subverted. During their alphabet playing episode, Josh had the letter N. After thinking of it for a bit, Josh says "I can't say my N-word". This is brought up and referenced again in the ending video.
* OhCrap: They commonly do this right before screwing something up, or realizing they screwed it up.
* OnceAnEpisode: Josh tells Tucans at one point that it seems like every episode starts with the latter making a reference to vaginas.
* OnlyKnownByTheirNickname: Zig-zagged with Tyler/Tucans; Josh calls him by his real name, but he refers to himself by his username.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: Both of them are usually cheerful and upbeat, only occasionally faking being angry or upset for laughs. However:
** After failing so much at the Sandbird level, Josh becomes sincerely angry and [[BigNo begins]] [[NoIndoorVoice yelling]] [[ClusterFBomb angrily]].
** Similarly, after Tyler dies ''just'' before getting the Shine Sprite in an eight red coins level he had trouble with, he actually [[HeroicBSOD breaks down crying]] temporarily.
* RedOniBlueOni: Tyler and Josh, respectively. Sometimes Josh will also go red, but you can count on Tyler ''never'' being blue.
** Well, that depends on what kind of "being blue" we're talking about. I'm trying to say that he's vulgar.
* RuleThirtyFour: Tyler squicks himself out when he realizes that this applies to [[{{Gonk}} Piantas]].
* RunningGag:
** Tyler asking Josh if he wants any Vagisil.
** The "bop" game.
** [[GwenStefani "This shit is bananas, B-A-N-A-N-A-S",]] [[MadLibsCatchPhrase with the letters that are spelled out changing every time.]]
* SadistShow
-->'''Josh:''' That's why you guys are watching this, not to race, not to see who wins, it's to see us fail.
-->'''Tyler:''' To see us cry.
-->'''Josh:''' Yeah. It's to see us in pain, on the floor, in the fetal position. That's what we do best at SuperMarioSunshineVersus.
-->'''Tyler:''' SupermarioSunshineVersus: Brought to you by ''pain''.
* ScheduleSlip: A few times.
* ShapedLikeItself: Josh and Tyler play a game where they make a sentence and take turns adding a word, and then they ended up making:
-->"SuperNintendo is a SuperNintendo."
* ShoutOut: JoshJepson makes one to LetsPlay/ElectricalBeast, thinking that the latter knew that Shine Sprites had power over time.
* SirSwearsalot: Josh is a straight example. Tyler is an exaggerated example.
* {{Smurfing}}: LetsPlay/{{Chuggaaconroy}} and LetsPlay/{{Lucahjin}} have both of their user names used as swear words at different points.
* StraightMan: Josh is the more normal of the two.
* TemptingFate: A rare example where it turned out ''good'' for the person speaking: [[spoiler: Josh says in the first episode [[SelfDeprecation not to "be on his team" since he fails so much.]] He ends up winning the series.]]
* ToiletHumor: It was gonna happen sooner or later. Tyler tells a (fiction) story about Josh putting dandelions up his butt because he didn't wipe.
* TrailersAlwaysSpoil: The thumbnail for the last part shows a screen from after the winner has already finished. [[spoiler: It shows a shot of Josh in the ending FMV next to Tyler playing Corona Mountain]]
* TrainwreckEpisode: In Episode 3, Josh's internet connection dies momentarily, and then both of their parents each separately interrupt them.
* WhatDoYouMeanItsNotSymbolic: Just as [[spoiler: Josh]] beat Bowser, [[spoiler: Tyler]] on his half of the screen lost a life in Corona Mountain.
* WildMassGuessing: Tyler jokes that ProtonJon rarely updates because he has a serious STD.
* YourMom: Verbatim, one of the rankings of complaining that Josh achieves on Tyler's Complaint Counter for Josh.
[[/folder]]

[[folder: Super Mario Galaxy Versus]]
* AbortedArc: They never finished their "Never Have I Ever" game in episode 15.
** Subverted, as it gets continued in the next episode (which, to be fair, released weeks later).
* AddedAlliterativeAppeal: The lifelines Level Leaver and Comet Confusion. Also Bellezbitches under AlliterativeName below.
** In episode 21, on facing his greatest challenge of Rolling Gizmo Galaxy again, Tyler gives alliterative UnusualDysphemism names to each part of the level ("the Bridge of Blasphemy", "the Rails of Rampage", etc.)
* AlliterativeName: Bellezbitches (Team Donnabellez)
* AndNowForSomeoneCompletelyDifferent: Tyler's still here, but now he's going against {{Donnabellez}}, with JoshJepson nowhere to be found. Aside from [[DorkHorseCandidate Team JoshJepson]] still being around.
* {{Angrish}}: Tyler's reduced to this when [[spoiler: he has to leave the level while fighting Bouldergeist]].
* AntiHumor: Tyler goes on a round of this in Episode 13, which also includes a LaughTrack.
* AssShove: Tyler's excuse for the hiatus between episode 15 and 16 is that he went bowling and decided it would be a good idea to try and use a bowling ball as a dildo, so he had to spend three weeks in the hospital.
* BreadEggsBreadedEggs: In episode 7, Tyler asks Donna which is scarier, [[TheSlenderManMythos Slenderman]] or anal sex, then decides to add the third option of "getting anal sex ''from'' Slenderman".
* BrokeTheRatingScale: In episode 9, [[spoiler:Donna]] gets so far ahead of [[spoiler:Tyler]] that this happens to the star tracker. They then mention the trope by name in episode 10.
* ClusterFBomb
* ContentWarnings
* ContinuityNod: The intro features a dubstep song with various shots of the Super Mario Galaxy cutscenes, just like the Super Mario Sunshine Versus intro ([[CaptainObvious except with Sunshine instead of Galaxy]]).
** Once again, the Shag/Fuck, Marry or Kill game is played, this time between Tyler and Donna.
* CoolOldLady: Both LP'ers opinions of their grandmothers, as seen in episode 6.
* CountryMatters: Right there in the first episode.
** SerialEscalation: A minor version, but considering the above point, yeah. Since Sunshine Versus didn't have the first PrecisionFStrike until the second episode.
* DanceSensation: "[[ItMakesSenseInContext Do the Nipple T-rex!]]" from episode 2.
* DamnYouMuscleMemory: She doesn't call attention to it, but you can see Donna struggling with this in episode 14 when [[IncrediblyLamePun Wii]][[InterfaceScrew versed.]]
* DiscoDan: Mild version. Sunshine Versus ended. Not for some people on Team JoshJepson, it hasn't though. See DorkHorseCandidate.
** And Donna insists on referring to stars as "shines".
* DistaffCounterpart: Tyler creates "[[LetsPlay/TheRunawayGuys The Runaway Girls]]" - Josh Jepson, Lucahjin, and Donnabellez. Surprisingly enough, if Josh really were a girl, there could be some comparisons drawn between them and LetsPlay/TheRunawayGuys.
* DorkHorseCandidate: Team Chuggaaconroy is back, and this time there's also Team LetsPlay/NintendoCapriSun, Team Lucahjin, and the continued existence of Team JoshJepson.
* DoubleTake: End of episode 8:
--> '''Tyler''': I've been AttackingTucans!
--> '''Donna''': And I've been [[BlatantLies Attacking Tucans]]!
--> '''Tyler''': And we'll- ({{Beat}}) [[RunningGag DUMB BITCH!]]
* EverythingIsRacist: Joked about in episode 10, in which they decide that even words like "son" and "girl" have now become racially charged due to PoliticalCorrectnessGoneMad.
* FanCommunityNickname: In-Universe. Unlike the ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin team names for the fanbase, the players declare that people who are rooting for Tucans are "The Tuclan" and people supporting Donnabellez are "Bellezbitches".
* FanNickname: Donna refers to Cosmic Mario as "Toothpaste Mario".
* GagBoobs: Tyler claims he has them. And that they are racist.
* GotMeDoingIt: In Episode 7, Tyler starts calling Stars "Shines", having picked up the habit from Donna, annoying him to no end.
** And at the end of episode 8, he refers to the game they're playing as ''SuperMarioSunshine'', which Donna claims in episode 9 is more evidence that she's rubbing off on him.
* HardDrinkingPartyGirl: After episode 10 begins with the sound of Donna drinking (water), Tyler constantly claims she's one of these for the rest of the episode.
* HelloInsertNameHere: In episode 2, when Rosalina gives the "Your name is Mario, isn't it?" line, they both decide to say 'no' and come up with unique names for their respective Marios: Tucans' is "Felupe" and Donna's in "Juan José".
* HypocriticalHumor: Tyler tries to impersonate Donnabellez, but loses it when she does the same back.
** And the entirety of episode 10, aka "The Racist Episode".
-->'''Tyler:''' This is the most racist episode ever, I can't believe you're doing these racist jokes on my videos. What the hell is wrong with you?! '''What the hell is wrong with you?!''' [[AttentionDeficitOohShiny Hey look,]] [[CallBack it's the Terrorist Dome!]] ''(ululates)''
* IncrediblyLamePun: Toad-ally.
* InterfaceScrew: One of the lifelines (see {{Troll}} below) is to force the other player to swap which hand is holding either the Wii-Remote or Nunchuk.
* InTheStyleOf: Starting in episode 4, they play a game where one of them chooses a song for the other to sing and an inappropriate style in which to sing it.
* LaughingMad: Tyler in episode 13.
* MilestoneCelebration: Accidental example, yet lampshaded- The first episode was on Donna's two-year LP anniversary, which she played ''SuperMarioGalaxy''.
* MindScrew[=/=]KaizoTrap: Donna suffers one when she completes the surfing game in part 2 by crashing into the gate, causing the "GOAL" text to appear, but then she falls off and dies, causing her to restart, even though she clearly completed it.
* {{Mondegreen}}: Tyler seems to think Donna's name for Mario (Juan José) is "One Horseh".
** In episode 8, "Donna's fiancé" becomes "Donna's {{Beyonce}}".
* NeverSayThatAgain: Donna's response when, while [[ItMakesSenseInContext talking about walking on balls]] in Space Junk Galaxy in episode 3, Tucans calls her "Donnaballz".
* NonindicativeName: [[DiscussedTrope Discussed]] in episode 6, when they talk about how none of their fans from countries other than the USA have heard of ''International'' House of Pancakes (IHOP), and set their viewers a challenge to find out if there are any outside the US. [[AndKnowingIsHalfTheBattle There are, but only in Canada, Mexico and Guatemala]].
* OrphanedPunchline: Parodied in the beginning of Episode 7.
* PerfectlyCromulentWord: "Booble" in episode 15 (also InherentlyFunnyWords).
* ScareEmStraight: Tyler shares his experience with this in episode 11.
* ScheduleSlip: Between episodes 15 and 16. Donna claims that Tyler got a bowling ball got stuck up his ass.
* TheScream: Tyler's reaction to [[spoiler: Donna finishing the [[ScrappyLevel Rolling Gizmo Galaxy]] on her first try, after he failed many times in the previous episode.]]
* ScrewThisImOuttaHere: Forcefully placed on one racer by the other, as one of the lifelines.
** [[spoiler: Tyler pulls one at the end of episode 17, after failing one time too many in the [[ScrappyLevel Rolling Gizmo Galaxy. Subverted as he comes back and sheepishly asks if (The now signed off) Donna's mad at him for bailing, implying it was a fake RageQuit.]]]]
* {{Sequelitis}}: In-Universe, both of them hated ''SuperMarioGalaxy2''.
* SerialEscalation: Last time, there was only one DorkHorseCandidate, this time, as seen in episode 2, at least four Let's Players not actually involved in the race in any way got team votes.
** The intro to episode 14,
-->'''Donna''': Hey, everybody! This is {{Donnabellez}} and guess what? [[spoiler: '''STARBIT BLOWOUT!''']]
* ShapedLikeItself: Donnabellez claims her chest is as exquisite as itself.
** In episode 8, Tyler says "there's the Bowser fight, where you fight Bowser".
* ShipSinking: In Episode 5, they both mention that Donna has a fiancé, so people should not be shipping her and Tyler.
* ShoutOut: In episode 10, Donna compares the black holes to the [[TheLordOfTheRings the Eye of Sauron]].
* SoundtrackDissonance: Depending on who's in the lead and what levels they're in, this can happen if you look at the screen of whoever has their audio ''not'' playing. For example, while Tyler is fighting King Kaliente in episode 11, Donna is in Toy Time Galaxy, which has very cheerful music. It's hard to watch Tyler's screen with that music playing and not crack up.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: In episode 6, Donna mistakenly refers to RoaldDahl as "Ronald Dahl". Interestingly according to one of Dahl's books, when he was in the army ''they'' always misspelled his name as that on forms, too.
* StayInTheKitchen: They joke about this when they both unlock the kitchen dome in Episode 4.
* StealthPun: The series is started on June 9th. In other words, 6/9. Tyler [[DontExplainTheJoke points this out]] in the description of his upload of the trailer.
* StrangeMindsThinkAlike: In episode 2, both of them seem to think the Count from ''Series/SesameStreet'' is actually [[{{Dracula}} Count Dracula]].
* SuspiciouslySpecificDenial: Tyler asks Donna how many Star Bits the first Hungry Luma needs, guessing 50, since he can't imagine it'd be 100. Donna (who has just paid said Luma with 100 Star Bits) agrees, asking why would he want 100?
** Tucans does not watch ''{{iCarly}}''.
* {{Troll}}: The lifeline system allows Tyler or Donna to do the following tricks to each other (two times per trick throughout the race):
** Assisted Suicide: Force the other player to have Mario lose a life on the spot.
** Wiiverse: Make the other player [[InterfaceScrew put the Wii-Mote and Nunchuk into their opposite hands]].
** Starbit Blowout: Force the other player to waste 250 star bits.
** Level Leaver: Force the other player to [[ScrewThisImOuttaHere exit the current level]] and start over.
** Comet Confusion: Have the other player talk to the Purple Luma and switch around the Prankster Comet positions.
* WhamLine: Tyler to Donna in episode 5 when she has 699 Star Bits:
--> '''Tyler''': Starbit Blowout! [[spoiler: TIMES TWO!]]
** Not so much the line itself, but the StunnedSilence that follows.
--> '''Tyler''': Never have I ever [[spoiler: swallowed somebody's cum before.]]
* WondrousLadiesRoom: Inverted--Donna has a similar romanticised view of urinals, and Tyler has to explain that they really aren't.
[[/folder]]

[[folder: Luigi's Mansion Versus]]
* [[AGoodNameForARockBand A Good Name For a Photography Club]]: Totally Touched.
* AndThatsTerrible:
--> '''Josh''': I'm being hugged to death! This is a problem!
* AtomicFBomb: Episode 4, when [[spoiler: Tyler]] misses gold rank on Orville the Portrait Ghost by 2 hp.
* BigNo[=/=]ScreamsLikeALittleGirl: [[spoiler: When Josh loses all HP in episode 5]].
* BlatantLies: Tyler telling Josh that the Golden Mouse in Madame Clairvoya's room has only a 20% chance of spawning randomly, when actually you're supposed to force it to appear by examining a piece of cheese. Josh believes it.
* BrickJoke: Albeit a short toss. During episode 5, [[spoiler: Josh dies (in-game, that is) and loses the will to play]] for the remainder of the episode. Episode 6 starts up, plays the usual intro... then the music stops midway though, and we realize that [[spoiler: animated Tyler is the only one onscreen, since Josh is still 'missing'.]]
* BuffySpeak: In Episode 1, "You have selective...stupid...ness"
* CallBack: "My bananas!" and [[AGoodNameForARockBand the Throbbing Masses]].
** And this reaction to one of Tyler's jokes:
-->'''Josh:''' [[{{Angrish}} Wh-- I swear to-- what the-- argh!]] [[OnceAnEpisode We made it—]] ''[[OnceAnEpisode almost]]'' [[OnceAnEpisode made it— the entire series without talking about piercing vaginas.]]
* FanNickname: Tyler refers to the Anteroom as the "Anteater Room" and Professor E. Gadd as "Professor E. Gonad".
* FakeBand: The Throbbing Masses ascend to this, with their new hit single "ScoobyDoo", and Josh dramatically leaving the band due to CreativeDifferences (despite Tyler protesting that they can't be the Throbbing Masses without "[[FaceOfTheBand the throbbingest of the masses]]").
* {{Foreshadowing}}: In Episode 3 of Galaxy Versus, Tyler mentioned that prior to the recording, he'd been playing ''LuigisMansion''. The following day, JoshJepson announced on Twitter that he would be starting a Luigi's Mansion Versus on his channel with Tyler.
** Tyler [[BlatantLies claims that,]] back when Josh's dad interrupted SuperMarioSunshine, it was foreshadowing for LuigisMansion because said interruption involved a vacuum.
* ForegoneConclusion: [[spoiler: Subverted. Josh loses progress in Episode 5, but by the end of Episode 6, they're more or less neck and neck again]].
* HeroicBSOD: After [[spoiler: Josh dies]] in part 5, he literally does nothing for the rest of the video.
* HostileShowTakeOver: [[spoiler: Tyler]] tries this in the fifth video after [[spoiler: Josh]] stops playing.
* IncrediblyLamePun: After releasing the Boos, "I'm drunk on booze/Boos!"
* InsistentTerminology: Tyler referring to the anteroom as the "anteater room".
** He also refers to the Trashcan Ghosts as "gorilla ghosts", apparently just because they throw banana skins at you.
* InsaneTrollLogic: When Josh mentioned he thought Film/TheHauntedMansion was a bad movie, Tyler claimed he thought it was bad because he doesn't like Black actors. Josh reverses this by calling out Tyler for confusing Eddie Murphy with Will Smith because they look the same to him.
* OhCrap: Josh comes out of first person view at one point to realize that not only is he surrounded by ghosts, but also has ''1'' hit point left.
* OlderThanTheyLook: An odd case with E. Gadd. Tyler thought he was a baby at first, and Josh agrees that he looks like a baby, though only until you see his elderly face.
* {{Spoonerism}}: As a joke, they decide to introduce one episode by introducing themselves by the other's name. This quickly breaks down when Tyler says "And I'm Jesh...Jop...son."
* StylisticSuck: [[spoiler: Episode 5's overall video quality decreases after Josh dies.]]
* TakeThat: Josh calls out {{iCarly}}.
* ViolationOfCommonSense: Tyler decides to vacuum his room. While recording. He really does it, too.
* WhamEpisode: Episode 5, where [[spoiler: Josh dies in-game, causing his screen to become filled with static with no clue as to his fate... Tyler assumes he has been killed by the [[TheSlendermanMythos Slenderman.]]]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder: Super Mario 64 Versus]]
* AccidentallyAccurate: In episode 1, Tyler makes a joke about Josh saying 'snap' being a coded message that his next LP will be PokemonSnap; Josh tries to claim that purely by coincidence, Tyler had guessed his next LP, but Tyler isn't taken in because "you're not cool enough to LP PokemonSnap".
* CutenessProximity: In episode 1, Tyler does this to a ''Chain-Chomp''.
* DepartmentOfRedundancyDepartment: "This stupid platform is stupid!"
* {{Dissimile}}: In episode 1, when talking about how excited they are about the new Versus channel, Tyler says he's as excited as 'Mitt Romney...[[AlternateUniverse the version of him that managed to win the presidential election]]'.
* EpicFail: To quote Tyler on Josh dying in the first level: "WHO dies at Bob-Omb Battlefield!?"
** HypocriticalHumour: Tyler mocks Josh for having trouble in Bob-omb Battlefield ''after'' talking about how he and his dad were unable to beat the level when he was a child.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: The first episode of the Versus begins with both of them randomly making CrossesTheLineTwice insulting comments about Princess Peach.
* FanCommunityNickname: {{In-universe}}. "The Tuclan" returns for Tyler supporters, and Josh supporters are now called "the Jepsquad".
* MostAnnoyingSound: In episode 1, [[{{In-universe}} Josh claims]] this of Tyler [[{{Wangst}} Wangsting]] "''The butt-on!''" in a high-pitched voice after he forgot to hit the red switch at the end of the Wing Cap level.
* VitriolicBestBuds: In episode 1, Tyler talks about an acquaintance who tried to invoke this trope just by ending every sentence with "[[ThisIsForEmphasisBitch ...bitch]]" as a VerbalTic.
* YouMakeMeSic: The Versus was allegedly inspired by a comment on Josh's channel asking him to do another Versus with "atting tunens". The two of them lampshade this, and then "Team Atting Tunens" becomes the obligatory DorkHorseCandidate when commenters vote for the teams, taking 10% of the vote.

* AGoodNameForARockBand: The Throbbing Masses.
* AssShove: In Tyler's story, Josh puts dandelions there.
* AtomicFBomb: Josh lets one out in episode 4 when, after getting all 8 red coins in the Blooper Surfing Safari, he jumps past the shine and hits a log, killing him instantly.
* BadLiar:
* BreadEggsMilkSquick: Frequently.
* BrickJoke: In one episode, Tyler deduces that there is Pianta porn somewhere online. In a different episode, he starts going on an angry rant and mentions it again. See DespairEventHorizon below.
* ButtMonkey:
* CampStraight: Tyler.
* CountryMatters
* HeroicBSOD:
* LargeHam: Both of them.
* LastLousyPoint: In Episode 18, Tyler collects all 100 Coins in Pianta Village...[[CrowningMomentofFunny and then jumps over the Shine and falls off the level.]]
* ManChild: Tucans.
* RunningGag:
** Tyler asking Josh if he wants any Vagisil.
** The "bop" game.
** [[GwenStefani "This shit is bananas, B-A-N-A-N-A-S",]] [[MadLibsCatchPhrase with the letters that are spelled out changing every time.]]
* SadistShow
-->'''Josh:''' That's why you guys are watching this, not to race, not to see who wins, it's to see us fail.
-->'''Tyler:''' To see us cry.
-->'''Josh:''' Yeah. It's to see us in pain, on the floor, in the fetal position. That's what we do best at SuperMarioSunshineVersus.
-->'''Tyler:''' SupermarioSunshineVersus: Brought to you by ''pain''.
* ScheduleSlip: A few times.
* ShapedLikeItself: Josh and Tyler play a game where they make a sentence and take turns adding a word, and then they ended up making:
-->"SuperNintendo is a SuperNintendo."

* AlliterativeName: Bellezbitches (Team Donnabellez)
* ClusterFBomb
* ContentWarnings
--> '''Tyler''': I've been AttackingTucans!
* IncrediblyLamePun: Toad-ally.
* {{Sequelitis}}: In-Universe, both of them hated ''SuperMarioGalaxy2''.

* AndThatsTerrible:
