I've seen the edit reason for this being changed from four years back, and it doesn't add up. A deconstructed trope isn't meant to just "mirror the real life" of whatever is depicted in the genre being deconstructed. It's meant to explore established tropes of a given work through realistic flaws and consequences. In Madoka's case, it isn't just Darker And Edgier as the replacement trope implies, and the actual trope page for Deconstruction even says that there's more to deconstruction than just making it darker. So as far as I'm concerned, the previous sinkhole is staying.
