* CockroachesWillRuleTheEarth: Cockroaches, fruit flies, and flour beetles were all exposed to various levels of cobalt-60 for thirty days. While the roaches survived higher doses than humans can, the fruit flies and flour beetles proved more durable than roaches (with the beetles being the ''only'' species to survive the highest doses of cobalt-60).

* FiveSecondRule: The results were not promising to anyone who has ever invoked the rule, as it was determined that a mere millisecond on the floor could pick up bacteria and that it was the conditions of the surface, not the time spent there, that determined transference. They also concluded that factors like the type of floor and the kind of food were more important than the amount of time food spend on the floor, as wet food gathered far more bacteria than dry food.

* SodaCandySplosion: An early episode went over the science involved in combining Diet Coke and Mentos, without actually testing anything. In regards to actual myths to bust, the team twice tested whether candy and soda eaten together would cause someone's stomach to explode; once with Pop Rocks in a pilot episode and then with Mentos later. In both cases, it was found that the reaction didn't release enough carbon dioxide to cause harm; at worst, the stomach would expand to the point of causing pain, but even that is unrealistic under most circumstances. In fact, the Mentos test showed that simply the act of drinking the soda released much of the gas before it could react with the candy.
