Instagram has added stories, while Uber now has Uber Eats, and Facebook has expanded their video features.

** The Nerd's review for ''Ride/UniversalStudios Theme Park Adventure'' for the UsefulNotes/NintendoGameCube was made while Creator/{{Nintendo}} was negotiating with Creator/{{Universal}} regarding the latter's acquisition of the former's theme park license (which was eventually successful). Granted, said game wasn't actually made by Nintendo (it was published by Kemco), but still it makes for a very eerie coincidence.
** When reviewing ''VideoGame/TheAngryVideoGameNerdAdventures'', the Nerd recognises the Guitar Guy and the Bullshit Man, but not Mike Mattei. This is because both the Guitar Guy and the Bullshit Man have made appearances in earlier episodes, yet Mike only appeared on the show portraying various characters. It wasn't until Day 8 of the 12 Days of Shitsmas when Mike Mattei finally appeared on the show as himself.

Not only did his mock review describe it as such a contribution, but when the actual game came out, it got brutally, nearly universally panned-- including by Yahtzee himself.
** In his review for ''Fable 2'', Yahtzee opens up by reminding the viewers that ''Fable 1'' was the second review he ever made, so all he has to do is review ''The Darkness'' again, then crash and burn into total obscurity and his life will be perfectly symmetrical. * Due to the lead times involved, the fact that there were going to be goofy twin autobots in ''Film/TransformersRevengeOfTheFallen'' was known over six months before the movie was released. However, their look and a certain level of {{Fanon}} lead to the assumption they'd be bumbling hillbilly-type characters. So, WebVideo/InternetPersonalityVangelus put forth the idea in his review of Skids that the autobot was really a rap star (named MC Paddington) with a dark past. This, plus the voice he assigned him, eerily anticipated the [[EthnicScrappy actual Skids]].
* While it was made in 2007, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RXaCZe2xZkM this recut trailer]] of ''Aliens'' proved to be [[Film/{{Avatar}} eerily prophetic]].

* A throw-away gag in WebVideo/BerserkAbridged has two [[StrawCharacter Strawman Political]] parodies arguing, which devolves into childish taunting, including the liberal one of the two calling the conservative parody a teabagger... this was made at the end of 2007, cue a certain political movement that appeared a year later.
* ''WebVideo/TheNostalgiaChick'':
** Early on, the Chick mocked the idea of BelligerentSexualTension with "[[WesternAnimation/{{Anastasia}} Ah, animosity. It must be love!]]". Have a guess what her most [[ShipTease teased]] (het) pairing [[BelligerentSexualTension consists of]] and [[WebVideo/TheNostalgiaCritic who it's with]]?
** Her desperation to see robots in ''Film/{{Xanadu}}'' takes on a different, even more amusing meaning when she was made a SexSlave robot who has to cater to her every whim.
** A video she made in high school about [=STDs=] contains a giant stuffed bear with AIDS having an affair with a 14 year old girl. Pedobear.
** In her video about the history of female comic book movies, she compared the problems with the ''Comicbook/TankGirl'' [[Film/TankGirl movie]] to Comicbook/{{Deadpool}}, which she used as another example of a comic book with BlackComedy and [[SelfReferentialHumor Meta Humor]] that'd be difficult to adapt as a live-action movie. She also mockingly clarified that she was talking about the "actual" Deadpool and not the Creator/RyanReynolds [[Film/XMenOriginsWolverine version]]. Years later, Reynolds starred in a highly successful ''Film/{{Deadpool|2016}}'' movie that retained all the meta humor and black comedy from the source material.

* In the ending of episode 2 part 2 of Four Swords Misadventures, Green explains that the scene of his Japanese counterpart having sex (or the implication that he was having sex) with Zelda in the ending won't happen for them because "they are in the censored english version", to which Red says starkly "The censors always ruin the fun." A few months later, any attempts at doing the episode on Website/YouTube ended up blocked thanks to that scene, thus forcing Haidoukendude (or hitthefloor729, as he is known on [=YouTube=]) to do a special [=YouTube=] edition of the episode where he not only had to put a bulletin on the scene in question with big letters to explain that what the Japanese versions of what Link and Zelda were saying, despite appearances, did NOT translate to anything suggestive, but also went as far as to post a link to the actual translation, thus spoiling the joke, meaning that the joke was ruined for everyone due to censorship.

For bonus points, the episode actually uses several Nostalgia Critic clips.

For a double whammy, the critic consensus for the film says that it should only be shown 'in case of parental emergency'... the opposite on what Duckyworth stated, which was to not show the kids those sort of films.

** Two of the Pokémon Lucas claims they had caught at the time were "life and death". Despite speculation about some of the legendaries at the time, there were no true embodiments of those concepts... until the series brought in Xerneas and Yveltal. In the ''sixth'' generation.
* In episode 4 of the series ''Beebo'', when Beebo's master goes to Heaven and sees Kobe Bryant and pleads "Please don't rape me!". Guess what trial Kobe Bryant got into less than a year later.
* In the first ''WebAnimation/DeclineOfVideoGaming'' (a flash series that theorized what video games be like in the future), one game "featured" was ''VideoGame/MetalGearSolid 5'', where Solid Snake was an old wheel chair bound man. In real life ''VideoGame/MetalGearSolid4'' features an old (but not wheel chair bound) Snake.
* In the 7th episode of ''WebAnimation/SuperMarioBrosZ'', the Seven Koopalings and Bowser Jr. appear together, the first time in any Mario related things this has happened. Almost a year later, ''VideoGame/NewSuperMarioBrosWii'' comes out which has the first canonical game involving Bowser Jr. and the seven Koopalings being together...
* WebAnimation/HomestarRunner:
** The WebAnimation/StrongBadEmail "for kids" is about the idea of Strong Bad running a kids' show. At the end, Strong Bad comments that Homsar would be a better host, followed by a [[CutawayGag mock kids' show being hosted by Homsar]]. It had, among other things, silly songs being repeated over and over. Matt Chapman, creator of Homestar Runner, later went on to direct Yo Gabba Gabba!, a kids series with silly songs being repeated over and over.
** An early Strong Bad Email had a fan write in to say he missed the simple early days of [=SBEmail=] where Strong Bad would answer an email without some kind of gimmick. The immediate gag was that this was followed by Strong Bad's computer malfunctioning and exploding, but the email is even funnier when you consider that later episodes of Strong Bad Email would only get longer and more elaborate, with plenty of Easter eggs and other "gimmicks".
** In the first "Biz Cas Fri" short, Homestar calls Strong Bad his "dog", but spells it "D-O-G-E", leading to Strong Bad's confused reply "I'm your [[http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/doge doge]]?!" According to the Know Your Meme page, the use of "doge" even inspired the name of the meme.
** In the Strong Bad Email "techno", clicking on the Cheat's lightswitch at the end pops up a poster for a "lightswitch rave" featuring "DJ The Stick and DJ from ''Series/FullHouse''". Fast forward to 2016, and a sequel series called ''Series/FullerHouse'' has, among other things, Stephanie Tanner (''not'' her sister D.J., because {{irony}}) become an actual DJ.
** Coach Z's rap song "These Peoples Try to Fade Me" features the line "And I got a bunch of types, a bunch of laser dabs." No one has a clue what he meant by that at the time, but fast forward a decade or so and "dabbing" is a dance move popular in the hip-hop community, made mainstream by the group Music/{{Migos}}. As a bonus, it apparently originated in the Brothers Chaps' hometown of Atlanta, Georgia!

** During the second episode of the High Priestess mini-arc, UsefulNotes/JackTheRipper does a {{filk song}} based on the Japanese 24 commercials. Before this, Rikiya Koyama voiced [[Series/TwentyFour Jack Bauer]] in the Japanese dub, and got in as Yoshikage Kira in [[VideoGame/JoJosBizarreAdventureAllStarBattle All Star Battle]]. He also voiced Will A. Zepelli in the Phantom Blood movie, but no one likes to talk about that.
** Old Joseph was saved by [[spoiler:Ceasar Zeppeli]] when he was fighting against Empress. In ''VideoGame/JoJosBizarreAdventureEyesOfHeaven'', [[spoiler: Ceasar returns from the dead]] and meets old Joseph.
* All the ghost stuff in the earlier seasons of ''Machinima/RedVsBlue'' ended up oddly prescient following TheReveal of [[spoiler:the ghosts actually being AIs]]. And in an specific case, Church's exasperated cry of, "Holy crap, who is running this army?!" becomes utterly hilarious when we find out the person running the Red and Blue armies is, in fact, [[spoiler:Dr. Leonard Church, whose mind served as an inspiration for the Church AI]].
** In Season 6, Sarge's call gets dropped and he complains about the stupid 4G network. At the time the joke was written, 3G was in prominence, and the joke was that the futuristic technology wasn't working right. Now it just comes off as a TakeThat to modern cell phone technology.
** In a cross-show case, Season 16 has Atlus Arcadium Rex venting off his frustration by shooting lighting at a moon, eventually shattering half of it to make it resemble the moon from fellow Creator/RoosterTeeth show ''Webanimation/{{RWBY}}''. Come Volume 6 of that, the shattered moon ''was'' caused by an angry god throwing a fit.
* The HalloweenEpisode of ''WebAnimation/RWBYChibi'' reveals that Ruby's birthday is on Halloween, which was later [[WordOfGod confirmed as canon to the main show]]. This makes her inclusion in ''VideoGame/BlazBlueCrossTagBattle'' more amusing when you realize the game also has Rachel Alucard, another young girl dressed in black and red whose birthday is also on Halloween.

Two years later, in ''Film/TheLastJedi'', Luke suddenly [[spoiler:astral projects to another planet]], a move that drew a mixed reaction from audiences.
** In their ''Film/TheDayAfterTomorrow'' episode, the gang imagines that old sitcoms will be brought back to life in the post-disaster world. One of those shows mentioned to be revived is ''Series/Roseanne'', which ''was'' revived in 2018.

On a minor note, both the fake trailer and ''Ralph Breaks the Internet'' have scenes parodying pop-up ads that personify said ads as annoying people.

** In her video about the history of female comic book movies, she compared the problems with the ''Comicbook/TankGirl'' [[Film/TankGirl movie]] to Comicbook/{{Deadpool}}, which she used as another example of a comic book with BlackComedy and [[SelfReferentialHumor Meta Humor]] that'd be difficult to adapt as a live-action movie. She also mockingly clarified that she was talking about the "actual" Deadpool and not the Creator/RyanReynolds [[Film/XMenOriginsWolverine version]].
