* In December 2019, a member of a Facebook gaming group for players of ''VideoGame/DisneyMagicKingdoms'' posted a blatantly Photoshopped "Character Welcomed"-type screenshot for Darth Vader. Fast-forward to 2021, characters and content from ''Film/ANewHope'' have been added to the game, including Vader.

** Yahtzee had quite the longstanding thing going with DNF. Way, way back at the start of Zero Punctuation, he mentioned in his "appearance" at the 2007 Game Developer's Choice awards (a video that came out nearly four years before the game itself was released) that if DNF "doesn't turn out to be history's greatest contribution to human culture", he "and every other reviewer on Earth [was] going to saw its bullocks off." Not only did his mock review describe it as such a contribution, but when the actual game came out, it got brutally, nearly universally panned-- including by Yahtzee himself.
** In his review for ''Fable 2'', Yahtzee opens up by reminding the viewers that ''Fable 1'' was the second review he ever made, so all he has to do is review ''The Darkness'' again, then crash and burn into total obscurity and his life will be perfectly symmetrical. Much later, he reviews ''The Darkness 2''. Of course, he didn't fade into obscurity so this is at least a partial subversion.

''VideoGame/FinalFantasyIX'' was released in the USA November 2000, when UsefulNotes/BillClinton's second term ended. No wonder there's no "Gaming in the Dubya Years".
* WebVideo/{{Retsupurae}}'s "Cornshaq Baby Please" had Slowbeef uttering, "Mr. O'Neil, the answer to this multiplication problem is 12, but also Mario 2 is the greatest game ever." A year later, [[Music/KanyeWest a famous rapper]] said something in a similar fashion that caused a MemeticMutation.
** Watch [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xt2uyDqbA-Q Slowbeef's Retsuparae]] of a savestate-laden LetsPlay of ''VideoGame/KaizoMarioWorld'' a few times. Then try to read ''[[http://www.bartleby.com/130/ On Liberty]]''.
* The ''Series/GamingInTheClintonYears'' series is already bizarre and surreal, but it does achieve one of these at the end of their ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyVIII'' review. George Wood exclaims "If Square doesn't add voice-overs to ''Final Fantasy IX'', I'm committing suicide! I hate text!" ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyIX'' was released in the USA November 2000, when UsefulNotes/BillClinton's second term ended. No wonder there's no "Gaming in the Dubya Years". Though it crosses over into FunnyAneurysmMoment when George Wood was rumored to be dead (luckily 6 years after FFIX came out). Circles back around now that he's proven to be alive.
* There was a story arch in ''WebVideo/ImAMarvelAndImADC'' about Tony Stark feeling jealous of Batman's new movie taking his spotlight. So, Batman trained Iron Man in being a detective. Guess [[Creator/RobertDowneyJr who]] is playing Franchise/SherlockHolmes [[Film/SherlockHolmes2009 in the 2009 movie]]?
"

* In ''WebVideo/YuGiOhTheAbridgedSeries'' episode 27, Tristan states that [[Anime/YuGiOh5Ds "In the future, card games will be played on motorbikes."]] A few months later, Frank Frankson was revealed to be Yusei Fudo's voice actor.
** The Second Anniversary Spectacularthon had a few teasing shots at a couple [=VAs=]. I mean, no ''way'' Vic Mignogna would've watched it, recommended by a few of his Rangers, right? [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nejwl0QZlFs Wrong.]] Thankfully, he took it well and the two have met a few times since.
*** Another one with LK and Vic -- for their first Kamicon promo, Martin calls him Creator/YuriLowenthal. Vic voiced an Uchiha later in ''Shippuden''.
** Also, a good two years before the Abridged Series came out and made these types of jokes, the dub had a military captain in the Doma filler arc (who played the whole situation straight in the original) say that "as strange as it sounds, the fate of the world now depends on a card game."
** This:
---> '''Joey:''' Be careful, Yug. This guy means business. He wasn't even remotely intimidated by my Brooklyn Rage.
---> '''Yami:''' Joey, stop trying to turn 'Brooklyn Rage' into a catchphrase. It's never going to work.
*** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m0MHPYkmfh0 Take a wild guess on what Wayne Grayson's favorite line is?]]
** ''Episode 50 Joey Wheeler Ace Attorney'' had Joey up against the guy that banned the series twice already. The judge said that third time's the charm .. and a few weeks later, Little Kuriboh was temporarily suspended on Website/YouTube for the third time.
** Episode 25 featured a short sequence of Yami and Tea singing a duet, and the end stinger said 'that's the closest you're gonna get to yu-gi-oh: the abridged musical'. Several years and a ''lot'' of [[FilkSong cover songs]] later...
* From G WebVideo/GundamAbridged Episode 2, Chibodee Crocket, voiced by Creator/Takahata101 using a Southern accent, tells a rambling story starting with the phrase "I ever tell you that story 'bout my best friend?" Later, Taka would play Ellis in Team Four Star's ''VideoGame/Left4Dead2'' LetsPlay.
** In Episode 4, Taka voices the commisioner using the same voice he would later use for Dartz on Yugioh Abridged.
* Due to the lead times involved, the fact that there were going to be goofy twin autobots in ''Film/TransformersRevengeOfTheFallen'' was known over six months before the movie was released. However, their look and a certain level of {{Fanon}} lead to the assumption they'd be bumbling hillbilly-type characters. So, WebVideo/InternetPersonalityVangelus put forth the idea in his review of Skids that the autobot was really a rap star (named MC Paddington) with a dark past. This, plus the voice he assigned him, eerily anticipated the [[EthnicScrappy actual Skids]].
* While it was made in 2007, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RXaCZe2xZkM this recut trailer]] of ''Aliens'' proved to be [[Film/{{Avatar}} eerily prophetic]].
* In 2011, someone made [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XZI2TZVWOxM a video of]] the Genie from ''WesternAnimation/{{Aladdin}}'' "singing" the theme for ''Series/TheFreshPrinceOfBelAir''. All the comments note how the editor somehow predicted Creator/WillSmith as the Genie in the [[Film/Aladdin2019 live action remake]].
* In an early episode, [[WebVideo/AskThatGuyWithTheGlasses Ask That Guy]] gives an answer that amounts to people just watching him because he's soft porn. Come December 2009 and you have... giving a blowjob to a pipe, testing eggnog-as-lube with sex noises offscreen, getting dominated by Bennett The Sage, making a long series of orgasm faces and him saying he's willing to go down on anyone and anything.
* Mike Polk's [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oZzgAjjuqZM "Hastily Made Cleveland Tourism Video"]] features a line that says "Our economy's based on [=LeBron=] James", the star player of the Cleveland Cavaliers. [=LeBron=] ended up leaving to play for another team from 2010-2014, though he did eventually come back.
* ''FanFic/MyImmortal'' gives us [[TheCloudcuckoolanderWasRight this little bit]] from the Author's Notes of Chapter 42:

* In an episode of ''WebVideo/ThereWillBeBrawl'', Luigi sees [[VideoGame/{{Earthbound}} Ness]] and [[VideoGame/Mother3 Lucas]] playing, and is inspired by their childish innocence to keep working to save the Mushroom Kingdom. Some fans suggested they'd be the "token innocent children who get held ransom by the bad guys". [[spoiler: Eventually the final episode rolls around, and it turns out ''they're the Butcher(s)''.]] Like the example at the top of the page, the contrast makes it ''hilarious'' to watch again.
* A throw-away gag in WebVideo/BerserkAbridged has two [[StrawCharacter Strawman Political]] parodies arguing, which devolves into childish taunting, including the liberal one of the two calling the conservative parody a teabagger... this was made at the end of 2007, cue a certain political movement that appeared a year later.
* ''WebVideo/TheNostalgiaChick'':
** Early on, the Chick mocked the idea of BelligerentSexualTension with "[[WesternAnimation/{{Anastasia}} Ah, animosity. It must be love!]]". Have a guess what her most [[ShipTease teased]] (het) pairing [[BelligerentSexualTension consists of]] and [[WebVideo/TheNostalgiaCritic who it's with]]?
** Her desperation to see robots in ''Film/{{Xanadu}}'' takes on a different, even more amusing meaning when she was made a SexSlave robot who has to cater to her every whim.
** A video she made in high school about [=STDs=] contains a giant stuffed bear with AIDS having an affair with a 14 year old girl. Pedobear.
** In her video about the history of female comic book movies, she compared the problems with the ''Comicbook/TankGirl'' [[Film/TankGirl movie]] to Comicbook/{{Deadpool}}, which she used as another example of a comic book with BlackComedy and [[SelfReferentialHumor Meta Humor]] that'd be difficult to adapt as a live-action movie. She also mockingly clarified that she was talking about the "actual" Deadpool and not the Creator/RyanReynolds [[Film/XMenOriginsWolverine version]]. Years later, Reynolds starred in a highly successful ''Film/{{Deadpool|2016}}'' movie that retained all the meta humor and black comedy from the source material.

* In the ending of episode 2 part 2 of Four Swords Misadventures, Green explains that the scene of his Japanese counterpart having sex (or the implication that he was having sex) with Zelda in the ending won't happen for them because "they are in the censored english version", to which Red says starkly "The censors always ruin the fun." A few months later, any attempts at doing the episode on Website/YouTube ended up blocked thanks to that scene, thus forcing Haidoukendude (or hitthefloor729, as he is known on [=YouTube=]) to do a special [=YouTube=] edition of the episode where he not only had to put a bulletin on the scene in question with big letters to explain that what the Japanese versions of what Link and Zelda were saying, despite appearances, did NOT translate to anything suggestive, but also went as far as to post a link to the actual translation, thus spoiling the joke, meaning that the joke was ruined for everyone due to censorship.
* Creator/ImprovEverywhere once had fun [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RKx0aek1T0w splitting pedestrian traffic into a fast lane and slow lane]] on a street in Manhattan. As it turns out, some in London [[http://www.bbc.co.uk/worldservice/news/2010/12/101201_oxford_st_wup_sl.shtml have taken that idea seriously]].
* A Website/YouTube video in [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sDX1m0Y2Vkg 2010]] featured [[Anime/{{Pokemon}} the Pokémon anime]] being DarkerAndEdgier in which Giovanni plays a more active role and Jessie, James, and Meowth become actively evil and wear black uniforms. In ''Pokémon Best Wishes'', they really DO!
* Before the second "season" of ''WebVideo/MarbleHornets'' started up (or was even hinted at), somebody made [[http://i40.tinypic.com/o5utz4.png this poster]] as a joke. [[spoiler:The tagline was ''completely accurate''...with the caveat that he wasn't interested in revenge on the villain...]]
** On the DVD features for Season 2, you can watch a [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XJDJO2hc24A trailer]] for [[InUniverse the original, unfinished student film Marble Hornets.]] In addition to being [[NarmCharm delightfully narmy,]] a certain character says that he sometimes feels as though he's wearing a mask around other people. Uh, right. [[MalevolentMaskedMan Well,]] [[BrainwashedAndCrazy good luck]] [[AxCrazy with that.]] However, this falls right on the line between HilariousInHindsight and just plain [[HarsherInHindsight harsher.]]
* In the epic ''Film/DragonballEvolution'' review on Website/ThatGuyWithTheGlasses, Y Ruler of Time and Rollo T try and guess which movie Hope Within Chaos was referring to as "so horrible that even the WebVideo/TheNostalgiaCritic won't review it". Their guesses? ''Film/{{Ultraviolet}}'' (later reviewed by [[WebVideo/BadMovieBeatdown Film Brain]]) and ''Film/DungeonsAndDragons'' (later actually reviewed by the Critic).
* In honor of WebVideo/TheNostalgiaCritic doing Nickolodeon Month in January 2009, CR of WebVideo/FamiliarFaces fame drew [[http://chadrocco.deviantart.com/art/Doug-108711586 an image of Doug Walker in the art style of Doug Funnie]] doing his "drink from a skull and fire wildly" routine, which would eventually become one of the most recognizable images on the Familiar Faces poster. One day later, the Nicktoons review proved that the Nostalgia Critic ''does'' [[BerserkButton fire his gun wildly]] [[NeverHeardThatOneBefore when compared to]] ''WesternAnimation/{{Doug}}''.
* Website/ScrewAttack
** Twice, they decided to make videos predicting the top news of the upcoming year. [[http://www.gametrailers.com/player/61093.html In the 2010 one]], one of the items that VideoGame/DukeNukemForever would get a release date, Nintendo would try out 3D again, there would be a new Kid Icarus game anounced (Albeit, for the Wii, not the DS), and the 360 would be slimmed down. Scary isn't it?
** They predicted Milo would become Skynet, [[http://kotaku.com/5645343/rumor-project-milo-canceled and in a weird coincidence...]]
** [[http://www.gametrailers.com/player/709342.html For 2011]], they speculated on a new Nintendo console aiming on hardcore games. [[UsefulNotes/WiiU And whadya know]].
* In Roleplay/WeAreOurAvatars, Cyber Amy gave out gifts to [[@/DaionusThe23rd Dai's]] characters. Meant to be tunics for the guys, and dresses for the girls. Too bad it was mistyped. What's so funny, though? Daisuke might as well be The Chick of the group, and is the only male member at the time.
** [[Manga/AzumangaDaioh Osaka]] told [[@/HilarityEnsues Hilarity]] that he needed to become a god (you can guess the circumstances). Much, much later, Hilarity is the God of Order.
* WebVideo/TheIrateGamer did an episode about Kool-Aid Man video games. The parody WebVideo/ThirdRateGamer followed up with a "review" of ''VideoGame/CoolSpot'', mocking the episode. Months later, IG reviewed ''Cool Spot''.
-->'''Third Rate Gamer:''' First the [[WebVideo/TheAngryVideoGameNerd AVGN]] ripped off my ''[[{{Franchise/Castlevania}} Castlemania]]'' review, and now the Irate Gamer ripped off my ''Cool Spot'' review! What's next?
** In his ''[[VideoGame/LittleNemoTheDreamMaster Little Nemo...]]'' sorry, ''FINDING Nemo'' review, he swaps King Morpheus with [[NamesTheSame a similarly-named]] [[Film/TheMatrix Morpheus]]. WebVideo/TheNostalgiaCritic makes a similar joke in his review of ''Little Nemo''.
** He jokes about Creator/{{Capcom}} creating shitty games in his ''VideoGame/StreetFighterII'' review, which may seem prophetic, considering the company's bad reputation in the 2010s.
** One of the Third Rate Gamer's {{Running Gag}}s is setting the game on the easiest difficulty before playing. In the Irate Gamer's ''VideoGame/DuckTales'' LetsPlay, he plays the game on the easiest difficulty.

* On April Fools' of 2011, Boubouille of VideoGame/WorldOfWarcraft news site MMO-Champion posted [[http://www.mmo-champion.com/threads/878945-World-of-Warcraft-5.0-Panda-Mania! this]] joke article about the upcoming expansion pack being centered around the Pandaren race and introducing them as playable for both factions. Well... The next expansion is centered around the Pandaren race and introduces them as playable for both factions.
** Made even better when you know that the moderation team speculated and planned a few elaborate satirical jokes which were then denied for risk of causing bad press by forumgoers taking it seriously. The pandaren joke on the other hand was deemed obvious and cringeworthy enough for everyone to understand it was just a joke. Which they did. Since it was. At the time.

* {{Lets Play}}er WebVideo/JesseCox plays ''VisualNovel/HatofulBoyfriend'' as part of [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_QgNERGRN40 his Fan Friday segment]]. He opts to name his character "Flox" instead of "Cox" due to the game's characters being birds. Only later does Jesse realize:
## His character is, in fact, human.
## His character is, in fact, female.
* There is a response to ''Film/TheLastAirbender'' called ''The Last Fartbender''. Two years later, ''WesternAnimation/TheLegendOfKorra'' has child airbender Meelo actually bending his farts to fight [[spoiler: Amon's forces invading Air Temple Island]].
* In WebVideo/TheAngryVideoGameNerd's video about the ''[[Franchise/TheLegendOfZelda Zelda]]'' timeline (around the time of ''[[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaTwilightPrincess Twilight Princess]]'''s release), he pokes fun at the fact that basically ''every'' Zelda after the first two is a prequel to the original and suggests that, "Maybe, eventually, we'll go back to Link and Zelda being the [[AdamAndEvePlot Adam and Eve of Hyrule.]]" Several years later, ''[[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaSkywardSword Skyward Sword]]'' comes out...
** In his review of ''VideoGame/{{Action 52}}'' for the NES, he converses the idiocy of using a lollipop as a weapon. When the Pyromania Update of ''VideoGame/TeamFortress2'' sprouts two years later, the Pyro received the Lollichop, a large lollipop used as a sharp weapon.

* In ''Creator/RoosterTeeth's'' Rage Quit episode featuring ''VideoGame/SurgeonSimulator2013'', one of the movie's funniest moments was when Gavin accidentally flings the replacement heart out of the room, leading to Michael to scream out that he "threw it against the wall like a wet paper towel!" Come the Steam version, that's what you have to do to get the achievement!
** Another one was when the Achievement Hunter guys were doing a LetsPlay of ''Madden 13'' with that year's Super Bowl participants, the San Francisco 49ers and the Baltimore Ravens. Geoff declares that whoever wins the game shall win the Super Bowl. Talk about coincidence...
*** This lead to their LetsPlay of ''Madden NFL 25'', in which Jack, as part of Team Gents and the Denver Broncos, tossed a whopping ''seven intercepts'', leading to the Broncos to lose. One has to think that Jack kinda-sorta jinxed them that year.
* On the {{Reality|Show}} TalentShow ''WebVideo/StripSearch'', the elimination format involves two artists from the show making comics in ninety minutes. When Elimination #3 saw the judges, [[Webcomic/PennyArcade Mike and Jerry]], [[SadisticChoice struggling to decide which to eliminate]] after both artists created excellent strips, Mike turned to one of the artist's stand-ups and said, "Fuck, [[TakeAThirdOption I'll send]] ''[[TakeAThirdOption this]]'' [[TakeAThirdOption person home]]. This is a piece of ''shit!'' Fucking ... bring her down here. Wake her up and drive her down here, and tell her she's going home." The creator of said inferior standup was [[spoiler:Abby Howard]] -- who would later ''completely demolish'' two of the best comic artists in the house ([[spoiler:including the winner of #3]]) with her hilarious comics on the elimination stage.
* At the start of the first LetsPlay/MarioPartyTV playthrough [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3PZr_rCMrbM Toy Dream]], Holms comments that "In the next game, they should have a 0 dice block." One year later, ''9'' delivered just that.

* In ''WebVideo/TheMysteriousMrEnter'''s [[WesternAnimation/FamilyGuy Seahorse Seashell Party]] review, when Brian gets attacked by bees during the MushroomSamba, Mr. Enter states that he he will not be playing [[Film/TheWickerMan2006 that Nicholas Cage clip]] over it, due to seeing it as a DiscreditedMeme. * The RussianHumor on the PleaseSelectNewCityName has aged ''interestingly''.
* The trope about works of fiction tending to be about 20 years behind the times was originally launched with the title of "Still the Eighties"; this was changed to TwoDecadesBehind around 2010 or so under the assumption that modern examples would reference TheNineties instead. But considering the insane amounts of '80s nostalgia that dominate pop culture to this day, one can argue that the name never needed to be changed at all.
* WereStillRelevantDammit takes its page image from Archie Comics. In fact Archie Comics used to be the posterchild for an intellectual property that sticks around long after its time has past. However since then ComicBook/AfterlifeWithArchie rocketed them back onto the scene, and then {{Series/Riverdale}} far surpassed it in popularity; both used the fact that everyone knew the Archie characters and didn't expect any surprises as an advantage.
* One of ''Website/{{Cracked}}'' Photolaspty entries features Wiki/TVTropes crossed with ''Website/{{Youtube}}'', creating Tropetube. Wiki/TVTropes now has a video feature, even showcasing mini descriptions, similar to the photo entry.

[[AC: WebAnimation]]
* One of the most remembered gags from the flash animation ''[=$00pah NiN10Doh!=]'' is [[Franchise/{{Pokemon}} Lucas and Dawn]] (and Creator/GameFreak) realizing that after having [[OlympusMons Arceus the PokéGod]] in their game, they can't [[PlotLeveling go any higher]] for the fifth generation. The official announcement of the fifth generation in late January 2010 wouldn't have been hilarious in itself... except that it happened only one week before Kirbopher, the creator of the animation, started voicing a character on ''[[Anime/{{Pokemon}} the actual show]]''.
** Two of the Pokémon Lucas claims they had caught at the time were "life and death". Despite speculation about some of the legendaries at the time, there were no true embodiments of those concepts... until the series brought in Xerneas and Yveltal. In the ''sixth'' generation.
* In episode 4 of the series ''Beebo'', when Beebo's master goes to Heaven and sees Kobe Bryant and pleads "Please don't rape me!". Guess what trial Kobe Bryant got into less than a year later.
* In the first ''WebAnimation/DeclineOfVideoGaming'' (a flash series that theorized what video games be like in the future), one game "featured" was ''VideoGame/MetalGearSolid 5'', where Solid Snake was an old wheel chair bound man. In real life ''VideoGame/MetalGearSolid4'' features an old (but not wheel chair bound) Snake.
* In the 7th episode of ''WebAnimation/SuperMarioBrosZ'', the Seven Koopalings and Bowser Jr. appear together, the first time in any Mario related things this has happened. Almost a year later, ''VideoGame/NewSuperMarioBrosWii'' comes out which has the first canonical game involving Bowser Jr. and the seven Koopalings being together...
* WebAnimation/HomestarRunner:
** The WebAnimation/StrongBadEmail "for kids" is about the idea of Strong Bad running a kids' show. At the end, Strong Bad comments that Homsar would be a better host, followed by a [[CutawayGag mock kids' show being hosted by Homsar]]. It had, among other things, silly songs being repeated over and over. Matt Chapman, creator of Homestar Runner, later went on to direct Yo Gabba Gabba!, a kids series with silly songs being repeated over and over.
** An early Strong Bad Email had a fan write in to say he missed the simple early days of [=SBEmail=] where Strong Bad would answer an email without some kind of gimmick. The immediate gag was that this was followed by Strong Bad's computer malfunctioning and exploding, but the email is even funnier when you consider that later episodes of Strong Bad Email would only get longer and more elaborate, with plenty of Easter eggs and other "gimmicks".
** In the first "Biz Cas Fri" short, Homestar calls Strong Bad his "dog", but spells it "D-O-G-E", leading to Strong Bad's confused reply "I'm your [[http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/doge doge]]?!" According to the Know Your Meme page, the use of "doge" even inspired the name of the meme.
** In the Strong Bad Email "techno", clicking on the Cheat's lightswitch at the end pops up a poster for a "lightswitch rave" featuring "DJ The Stick and DJ from ''Series/FullHouse''". Fast forward to 2016, and a sequel series called ''Series/FullerHouse'' has, among other things, Stephanie Tanner (''not'' her sister D.J., because {{irony}}) become an actual DJ.
** Coach Z's rap song "These Peoples Try to Fade Me" features the line "And I got a bunch of types, a bunch of laser dabs." No one has a clue what he meant by that at the time, but fast forward a decade or so and "dabbing" is a dance move popular in the hip-hop community, made mainstream by the group Music/{{Migos}}. As a bonus, it apparently originated in the Brothers Chaps' hometown of Atlanta, Georgia!
* The end of [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=moGakgI6ldw this video.]] A few weeks later, Game Grumps release [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWiYoR0pX7k this episode.]]
* In the anime adaptation of ''Manga/ArakawaUnderTheBridge'', Hoshi (the mugger during a comedic scene in ''WebVideo/VaguelyRecallingJoJo'') gets voiced by Creator/TomokazuSugita. Later on, Tomokazu gets to voice Joseph Joestar in the 2012 anime adaptation of ''Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventure''. This scene is hilarious if you know that because Rubber Soul had just technically gave Joseph Joestar a coconut backbreaker.
** During the second episode of the High Priestess mini-arc, UsefulNotes/JackTheRipper does a {{filk song}} based on the Japanese 24 commercials. Before this, Rikiya Koyama voiced [[Series/TwentyFour Jack Bauer]] in the Japanese dub, and got in as Yoshikage Kira in [[VideoGame/JoJosBizarreAdventureAllStarBattle All Star Battle]]. He also voiced Will A. Zepelli in the Phantom Blood movie, but no one likes to talk about that.
** Old Joseph was saved by [[spoiler:Ceasar Zeppeli]] when he was fighting against Empress. In ''VideoGame/JoJosBizarreAdventureEyesOfHeaven'', [[spoiler: Ceasar returns from the dead]] and meets old Joseph.
* All the ghost stuff in the earlier seasons of ''Machinima/RedVsBlue'' ended up oddly prescient following TheReveal of [[spoiler:the ghosts actually being AIs]]. And in an specific case, Church's exasperated cry of, "Holy crap, who is running this army?!" becomes utterly hilarious when we find out the person running the Red and Blue armies is, in fact, [[spoiler:Dr. Leonard Church, whose mind served as an inspiration for the Church AI]].
** In Season 6, Sarge's call gets dropped and he complains about the stupid 4G network. At the time the joke was written, 3G was in prominence, and the joke was that the futuristic technology wasn't working right. Now it just comes off as a TakeThat to modern cell phone technology.
** In a cross-show case, Season 16 has Atlus Arcadium Rex venting off his frustration by shooting lighting at a moon, eventually shattering half of it to make it resemble the moon from fellow Creator/RoosterTeeth show ''Webanimation/{{RWBY}}''. Come Volume 6 of that, the shattered moon ''was'' caused by an angry god throwing a fit.
* The HalloweenEpisode of ''WebAnimation/RWBYChibi'' reveals that Ruby's birthday is on Halloween, which was later [[WordOfGod confirmed as canon to the main show]]. * ** The RussianHumor on the PleaseSelectNewCityName has aged ''interestingly''.
* ** The trope about works of fiction tending to be about 20 years behind the times was originally launched with the title of "Still the Eighties"; this was changed to TwoDecadesBehind around 2010 or so under the assumption that modern examples would reference TheNineties instead. But considering the insane amounts of '80s nostalgia that dominate pop culture to this day, one can argue that the name never needed to be changed at all.
* ** WereStillRelevantDammit takes its page image from Archie Comics. ''Archie Comics''. In fact Archie Comics ''Archie Comics'' used to be the posterchild for an intellectual property that sticks around long after its time has past. However since then ComicBook/AfterlifeWithArchie ''ComicBook/AfterlifeWithArchie'' rocketed them back onto the scene, and then {{Series/Riverdale}} ''Series/{{Riverdale}}'' far surpassed it in popularity; both used the fact that everyone knew the Archie characters and didn't expect any surprises as an advantage.

* WebAnimation/HomestarRunner:

This makes her inclusion in ''VideoGame/BlazBlueCrossTagBattle'' more amusing when you realize the game also has Rachel Alucard, another young girl dressed in black and red whose birthday is also on Halloween.

A few years later (though it's not Bruce Lee), we have ''VideoGame/SuperSmashBrosBrawl'', in which several bounty hunters, futuristic agents, [[Franchise/MetalGear Solid Snake]], and ''SonicTheHedgehog'' Franchise/SonicTheHedgehog trip over themselves once every few minutes (randomly), with absolutely no way to stop it or turn it off.
** In his review for ''VideoGame/LesterTheUnlikely'', he ponders on what the sequels would be like, and mentions that the most recent one would come out on the UsefulNotes/PlayStation4, which uses technology to construct discs out of orangutan diarrhea, giving Blu-Ray a run for its money. The [=PS4=] would eventually come out, but the technology is still related to Blu-Ray, discs and everything.it actually ran on Blu-Ray.

** When reviewing ''VideoGame/TheAngryVideoGameNerdAdventures'', the Nerd recognises the Guitar Guy and the Bullshit Man, but not Mike Matti. This is because both the Guitar Guy and the Bullshit Man have made appearances in earlier episodes, yet Mike only appeared on the show portraying various characters. It wasn't until Day 8 of the 12 Days of Shitsmas when Mike Matti finally appeared on the show as himself.

* In 2011, someone made [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XZI2TZVWOxM a video of]] the Genie from ''Disney/{{Aladdin}}'' "singing" the theme for ''Series/TheFreshPrinceOfBelAir''. All the comments note how the editor somehow predicted Creator/WillSmith as the Genie in the [[Film/Aladdin2019 live action remake]].
