* In "The Return of Slade" the NeverTrustATitle aspect kicks in once we get a time card noting "Three episodes and a made-for-TV movie later" to cover the Titans' offscreen fight with Slade. While it wasn't exactly a made-for-TV, the Titans would later get a [[WesternAnimation/TeenTitansGoToTheMovies full blown theatrical movie]] (actually) covering an encounter with Slade.

* Anytime the show makes a ShoutOut to ''Franchise/SuperMarioBros'' has become this with the announcement that Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic will be serving as the directors for ''WesternAnimation/TheSuperMarioBrosMovie''.

* "Let's Get Serious" pokes fun at the idea that a DarkerAndEdgier take on the Titans would be inherently superior to the lighthearted comedy of Go. Following the reveal of ''Series/Titans2018'' and the significant BrokenBase the show has created over a DarkerAndEdgier take on the material (this was at the time when "fuck Batman", a line Robin said in the initial trailer, was making the rounds), "Let's Get Serious" feels far more apt than it originally did. In fact, [[WesternAnimation/YoungJustice Kaldur]] himself agreed that maybe there's such a thing as "too serious". (Mostly averted in this case [[WinTheCrowd thanks to Titans' positive reception in season 2]].)

* In "Missing", Robin, Cyborg, and Beast Boy are given a check for billions of dollars. They fantasize this in a parody of the ''WesternAnimation/DuckTales'' opening sequence, with the song "We're Rich (Whoo Hoo)". Guess which show [[WesternAnimation/DuckTales2017 got its own reboot announced less than a year later?]]

* In "Let's Get Serious" Teen Titans go had a parody of Young Justice. When Young Justice got revived for a season 3 they got to return the favor with their own Teen Titans Go parody.
* A common nickname for the show among its detractors in its early years was "Toddler Titans", named such as many felt it was pandering to a younger audience than the 2003 show. An episode of season 6 was released years later called "Toddler Titans... Yay!", which is a parody of shows aimed at preschoolers.

* Several years ago, a fan wrote a ''Teen Titans'' fanfic about the gang watching ''Film/{{Enchanted}}'' and comparing themselves to the characters from the film. Starfire, of course, is compared to ditzy PrincessClassic Giselle. Fast forward to the episode "Laundry Day", in which Starfire makes a beautiful dress out of scratch, something Giselle did in the movie.
* In "[=BBBDay=]!", the Titans avoid using the Birthday Song because they can't afford the right to use it. While the song was believed to be under copyright at the time the episode was written, by the time it aired, a judge had ruled that the copyright was never valid in the first place.
* This show depicting the ''Young Justice'' version of Aqualad as a prolific [[TheCasanova skirt-chaser]] is rather ironic following ''ComicBook/DCRebirth'', where he [[ComingOutStory comes out of the closet]].
* A crossover with ''WesternAnimation/ThePowerpuffGirls2016'' was announced a year after Tara Strong caused a stink over being replaced as the voice of Bubbles. It could be seen as being HarsherInHindsight if you feel bad for Strong.
* All the jokes about ''Young Justice'' being cancelled, following the announcement of its renewal.
* How Cartoon Network kept claiming about how it's [[AdoredByTheNetwork "your new favorite show!"]], has since lost a lot of weight, since as of lately, ''WesternAnimation/TheAmazingWorldOfGumball'' and ''WesternAnimation/StevenUniverse'' have been surpassing ''Teen Titans Go!'' in ratings. CN actually stopped using the tagline a few months after it was introduced, after significant backlash over the network's BlatantLies.

They fantasize this in a parody of the ''WesternAnimation/DuckTales'' opening sequence, with the song "We're Rich (Whoo Hoo)". * In "Second Christmas", the Titans trick Starfire into making another day of Christmas to enjoy it more, with a whole new Santa even helping them celebrate it. [[WebVideo/NonePiece It's a good thing that they didn't wait until July 25th to celebrate it. Otherwise, they would've just been robbed.]]
* In "The Academy", ''WesternAnimation/BatmanTheBraveAndTheBold'' was featured in the In Memoriam section of the ceremony. 10 days after the episode aired, the series was announced to be getting [[WesternAnimation/ScoobyDooAndBatmanTheBraveAndTheBold a DTV movie]] where the Caped Crusader would be reteaming with Franchise/ScoobyDoo.

** For an earlier case, the episode was aired on February 26, 2015. Following this, we got the introduction of the Franchise/DCExtendedUniverse, where most of the movies within were actually criticized for being too needlessly dark (the infamous scene in ''Film/ManOfSteel'' where Superman breaks Zod's neck is a good starting point). In addition, there's the animated adaptation of ''WesternAnimation/BatmanTheKillingJoke'' which received mixed to negative reception for its desire to be more [[RatedMForMoney edgy]] than [[ComicBook/TheKillingJoke the source material]] in, let's say, [[{{Squick}} less than kid-friendly ways]]. In a sense, [[VindicatedByHistory "Let's Get Serious" arguably came out right before a time where it would be at its most culturally relevant.]]
* The "Stakeout" song features Cyborg and Beast Boy next to Shaggy and Franchise/ScoobyDoo in the Mystery Machine. Come ''VideoGame/LegoDimensions'' and people can have them team up once again!
* In "Let's Get Serious" Teen Titans go had a parody of Young Justice. When Young Justice got revived for a season 3 they got to return the favor with their own Teen Titans Go parody.
