This is pure actor fluff.

* Creator/AnthonyAinley playing TheMaster hits this, considering that [[Film/TheLandThatTimeForgot one of his previous works]] appeared on Series/MysteryScienceTheater3000, which famously riffed [[Film/ManosTheHandsOfFate a movie]] with a different Master. Doubly so since "[[Recap/DoctorWho20thASTheFiveDoctors The Five Doctors]]" would eventually get subjected to ''Podcast/{{Rifftrax}}''.

The "I'm quite the screamer" line was hilarious enough the first time, but in 2014, when Alex Kingston participated in the ALS [[https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x63lsk6 Ice Bucket Challenge,]][[note]]Around the 6:52 mark[[/note]] the second the cold water hit her, she shrieked like a tea kettle. Quite the screamer, indeed.

actor trivia

* The first thing the Tenth Doctor says after waking up in "[[Recap/DoctorWho2005CSTheChristmasInvasion The Christmas Invasion]]" is "[[Series/{{Sherlock}} Did you miss me?]]". For bonus points, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HLRdEfhFFC0 here's]] Creator/DavidTennant lip-syncing to "Stayin' Alive".
** In the same episode, the Doctor says that you can't use MindControl to make someone commit suicide. Kinda funny for Creator/DavidTennant to say that, considering that he later played Kilgrave in ''[[Series/JessicaJones2015 Jessica Jones]]'', who mind-controls people into killing themselves through cutting their own throats (Ruben), shooting themselves in the head (Trish Walker), and walking off a roof ledge (Will Simpson).
** Tennant would later have a magnificent ginger mane in ''Series/GoodOmens2019''.

* In "[[Recap/DoctorWhoS29E1SmithAndJones Smith and Jones]]", the Doctor, trying to hide his Time Lord biology from the MonsterOfTheWeek by pretending to be a panicking human, claims to have worked as a postman. Creator/DavidTennant would go on to play the BigBadWannabe in ''WesternAnimation/PostmanPat: The Movie''.
* "[[Recap/DoctorWhoS29E2TheShakespeareCode The Shakespeare Code]]": After he left ''Doctor Who'', Creator/DavidTennant went on to play the main character in several highly successful Shakespeare-productions such as Hamlet in ''Theatre/{{Hamlet}}'' and Benedick in ''Theatre/MuchAdoAboutNothing.''

* In [[Recap/DoctorWhoS29E3Gridlock "Gridlock",]] the Doctor wears a borrowed purple bandana as a breathing mask, remarking that it's "not my color". David Tennant would go on to play Kilgrave in ''Series/JessicaJones2015'', whose wardrobe and mind control powers are primarily purple-based.
* Creator/AndrewGarfield appears in "[[Recap/DoctorWhoS29E4DaleksInManhattan Daleks in Manhattan]]" as a homeless boy -- he would later portray the best-known example of PerpetualPoverty in comic books, [[Film/TheAmazingSpiderMan Spider-Man]]. Even better - [[spoiler:Spider-Man is also known for his problems with the police -- here, the boy is last seen being ''[[VisualPun taken away by pigs.]]'']]

* In "[[Recap/DoctorWhoS30E13JourneysEnd Journey's End]]", Davros describes the Doctor in a BreakingSpeech as "the man who abhors violence, never carrying a gun. But this is the truth, Doctor; [[TheCorrupter you take ordinary people and fashion them into weapons.]]" In ''Series/JessicaJones2015'', David Tennant plays Kilgrave, a man who does just that, [[MindRape albeit with no free will on the victim's part]].
* This exchange in "[[Recap/DoctorWho2009ASDreamland Dreamland]]", in light of Creator/DavidTennant's voice role in ''WesternAnimation/StarWarsTheCloneWars'':
-->'''The Doctor:''' There's always a ventilation shaft!\\
'''Cassie:''' Doctor, are you sure there's a way out of here?\\
'''The Doctor:''' Of course there's a way out, there always is! Apart from in ''Franchise/StarWars'', of course.

* In "[[Recap/DoctorWhoS32E1TheImpossibleAstronaut The Impossible Astronaut]]", River makes the infamous quip about how she's [[TheImmodestOrgasm "quite the screamer."]] Fast forward a couple of years, and Creator/AlexKingston started appearing on ''Series/{{Arrow}}'' as Dinah Drake Lance, who happens to be one of the most famous {{Super Scream}}ers in comic books, '''ComicBook/BlackCanary.'''\\

* In "[[Recap/DoctorWhoS32E2DayOfTheMoon Day of the Moon]]", UsefulNotes/RichardNixon asks the Doctor if he'll be remembered in the future. The Doctor, wishing to remain coy on the details, simply replies that "they'll never forget about [Nixon]" and "say hello to Creator/DavidFrost for me". [[Recap/DoctorWhoS32E4TheDoctorsWife Two episodes later]], the Doctor has an encounter with a being voiced by Creator/MichaelSheen, who played David Frost in ''Film/FrostNixon''.

* Creator/AlexKingston, a.k.a. River Song, made a couple guest appearances on ''Series/LawAndOrderSpecialVictimsUnit''. Her character's surname? Pond. Amusing coincidence which became hilarious after [[spoiler:River was revealed to be Amy and Rory's daughter, Melody Pond]].

* In "[[Recap/DoctorWhoS33E3ATownCalledMercy A Town Called Mercy]]", the Gunslinger's StatOVision says "TERMINATE" (which is even in the same font as the franchise's logo). Cue two years later when it was announced that Creator/MattSmith would end up being cast in the [[Film/TerminatorGenisys fifth]] ''Franchise/{{Terminator}}'' film.

* Creator/ArthurDarvill plays DC Comics' time-travelling hero Rip Hunter (who actually predates ''Doctor Who'' by a few years) in ''Series/LegendsOfTomorrow''.

* Shortly after Creator/DavidBradley appeared as the First Doctor, and the ''very same day'' it was announced that the Thirteenth Doctor would be a woman, he appeared as a young woman disguised as an old man in the Season 7 premiere of ''Series/GameOfThrones''.
** A few episodes later Creator/MaisieWilliams is quite disturbed that her brother seems to have lost all his humanity due to having multiple lifetimes of memories in his head.

* Tim Latimer from [[Recap/DoctorWhoS29E8HumanNature "Human Nature"]]/[[Recap/DoctorWhoS29E9TheFamilyOfBlood "The Family of Blood"]] shares a surname with ''Series/{{Broadchurch}}'' character Beth Latimer, who was played by then-future Thirteenth Doctor Creator/JodieWhittaker.

* Throughout Series 4, the Doctor and Donna have to correct multiple characters about not being a romantic couple. Then Creator/DavidTennant and Creator/CatherineTate got cast as Benedick and Beatrice in ''Theatre/MuchAdoAboutNothing''...

* Crossed with HeartwarmingInHindsight: In an interview with the "Reality Bomb" podcast, Creator/ChrisChibnall stated that he fully expected the Timeless Child story arc and plot twist to be "ignored, contradicted, doubled back on, it could be anything". Incoming showrunner Creator/RussellTDavies stated that he had no intention of doing this and incorporated the Doctor's lingering trauma over the Timeless Child into "[[Recap/DoctorWho60thASWildBlueYonder Wild Blue Yonder]]".
