Under Geoff Johns' pen, Garth and Imra were both worn out from what the Justice League of Earth put them and the Legion through. Garth was yelling at just about everyone and Imra could barely keep a handle on him. When Paul Levitz came back as writer, Imra gained back her assertiveness and she found herself expressing in private how angry she was with Garth's behavior. Garth was distraught when Ayla found him and explained how Titan was destroyed and Imra vanished to look for their missing sons. Garth dropped everything he was doing, found Imra completely exhausted from looking for their sons for several days straight, and immediately went about helping her to find Graym and Garridan together. It was as if the last several storylines of unhappiness never happened.
