* In the film, Scarlett returns to Tara. While she's hugging Gerard, Mammy comes over to see who's at the door. Scarlett's response to seeing Mammy? She happily calls out "Mammy" and hugs her. Mammy responds with a loving "Honey child", patting Scarlett's back. Considering their last interaction on screen was Mammy scolding Scarlett for the real reason she wants to go to Atlanta...[[TheyDoLoveEachOther it's clear that the two women are happy to see each other]].

Olivia de Havilland had been annoyed at being put into the Best Supporting Actress category as the studio didn't want her and Vivien Leigh competing against each other, but expressed her support when Hattie won the award.
