First of all, this a Moments page, so spoilers are not needed here. Second of all, I found it so astounding that there is so much biblical and religious symbolism in this book as well as this cartoon! If you saw both the book AND the episode of this piece of popular culture, you would know what I mean! Wow!

* From the animated special: [[VitriolicBestBuds Garfield and Odie]] celebrating first when Garfield gets his life back, then when God gives them BOTH 9 lives. They run around in circles, then hug. It's adorable.
-->'''God:''' ''[[spoiler:(With glowing, yellow, feline eyes suddenly visible.)]]'' We have to stick together, you know.
* And while the ending was sad, "Diana's Piano" had Diana's owner play a full concert for her pet [[spoiler: [[LetThemDieHappy on the night she passed away]]]].
* Garfield says "The Garden" is his favorite life, and it's hard to disagree, as he and his owner Cloey live happily in a magic garden created by her uncle Todd. One spring, Uncle Todd joins the circus on the road, leaving Cloey and the kitten as caretakers of the Garden, but before he leaves, he shows them a mysterious crystal chest in the middle of the garden, telling them they must never open it in a Garden Of Eden-like test, as whatever is hidden inside makes the Garden work. Being children, both Cloey and the kitten are absolutely captivated with this mystery, spending hours staring at it and contemplating it's mysteries. Finally, after much temptation, they decide to "take action": [[spoiler:they leave it alone forever, as they would never do anything to hurt Todd.]]

They run Despite the fact that God is the all-seeing being, and thus can probably tell that he is lying, he gives them nine lives anyway because they truly deserve it. As blasphemous as this notion is, it is also quite admittedly an exquisite delight. Garfield and Odie react by running around in circles, then hug. It's adorable.
