** After being [[{{Deconstruction}} broken apart]] and [[CurbstompBattle struck down]] by Archer, Shirou has a monologue where he finally remembers the one thing that he didn't lose in the fire, the thing that allowed him to survive was [[spoiler:the wish to undo the hell he was in and save others]], he then finally comes to terms with the flaws with his own ideals and finds the strength to go on, all of this to the tune of Aimer's [[CrowningMusicOfAwesome Last Stardust]].

* Episode 0: Rin decides to use her father's jewel which had 10 years worth of prana in it to save [[spoiler:Shirou's life.]] It is even more heartwarming if you read the VN and know she did it just for [[spoiler:Sakura]].

** Kiritsugu's smile when the newly orphaned Shirou chooses to live with him.

** The lengths that Rin goes to protect Shirou, despite the fact he's an enemy.
** Shirou grabbing Saber's hand to [[spoiler:save her from Archer's attack]]
* Episode 4: How respectful and kind Shirou is to Saber. Let's just say it's a big improvement over Deen's version of the ''Fate'' Route where he was less so.

* Episode 8: Rin revealing that she used a [[spoiler:command seal to protect Shirou after Archer's attack on him]].

** Despite [[spoiler:taking Saber's sword through his shoulder and losing his servant,]] Shirou still stumbles out of bed and searches for Rin. The reason why? He knows she needs all the help she can get and she means that much to him.

** Rin's {{tsundere}} response to Shirou's [[spoiler: rescue and confession. First she shoves him forward and calls him an idiot and then she layes her head against his back and thanks him.]]

** Shirou meeting [[spoiler:Waver who asks him why he's in the Clock Tower. Shirou tells Waver his dream fully expecting him to make fun of it. Waver admits that Shirou's dream is stupid but not laughable.]]
** Somewhat minor, but the epilogue hints that [[TheScrappy Shinji]] is starting to become a better person after [[ScaredStraight the war beated some sense on him]], it's refreshing to see that the heroes good will was not in vain.
** There is something satisfying about the ending where Archer reflects on his life and states while he may regret his decisions, he knows he was right in the end and continues his existence in peace. [[spoiler:Showing Shirou smile as he continues to be a hero shows that no matter what he isn't going to regret his decisions and become Archer]]

** Though not really a sequel to LightNovel/FateZero, the fact that this route was adapted after that gives a nice sense of closure to both stories as much of the pain caused in Zero is resolved in UBW [[spoiler: with the sad exception of Sakura's problems]].

** Saber's final smile [[Spoiler: as she begins to disappear after destroying the grail]], considering all the events from LightNovel/FateZero and her last scene in that story, it's quite clear that Saber has finally managed to reach peace with her decisions [[spoiler: and can thus let go of all her regrets as she vanishes.]]

*** Another layer of heartwarming could be added if we consider [[Videogame/FateGrandOrder Sengo Muramasa's]] [[FamousAncestor possible connection]] with Shirou, as Sasaki would have, without knowing, saved the descendent of the man who helped him create the "Tsubame Gaeshi".

* Episode 12: [[spoiler:Caster has taken Shirou's command seals and Saber. Archer casually points out that with him badly wounded he can offer no help at all and asks that Rin remove the alliance between her and Shirou.]] Despite all of this she still refuses to remove Shirou from her protection and even attempts to discourage him from following her to keep him safe.

* Episode 14: Caster [[spoiler:destroying her former master's mana production lab and releasing the children that were meant to be used as raw materials.]] Even though she claims to dislike his ways because it was too inefficient to [[spoiler:generate mana]], perhaps she cares more than she lets on.

* Episode 15: Despite crossing into TearJerker territory, the relationship between Illya and Berserker is the highlight of the episode.

* Episode 17: The first thing Saber does after being held captive for days, subject to physical and mental torture? Save Shirou's life and stand between him and the vastly more powerful Archer. [[UndyingLoyalty Loyalty, thy name is Arturia.]]

** When Shirou finally manages to reach Archer, he has a chance to cut him before he stabs him, what makes him stop? His last night with Kiritsugu.

** Although it was toned down from the original, the mana transfer ritual gave us a glimpse of the most secret memory of Rin [[spoiler:back when she used to be in middle school: seeing Shirou do the high jump, as futile as it was, over and over until sunset, with her staying with him, watching him from afar.]]

** Archer's final words to Rin are a request that she look after Shirou, because he hopelessly naive and stupid. [[spoiler: Considering how hard he tried to kill Shirou since he was summoned, this is quite a pleasant turn around.]]

* Episode 4: How respectful and kind Shirou is to Saber. Let's just say it's a big improvement over Deen's version of the ''Fate'' Route that seemed too filled with UnfortunateImplications.
* Episode 5: The fact that, despite that Rin tried to harm him, Shirou protected Rin without second thought; afterwards, Rin returns the favor and saves him from Rider.

** In TheStinger, Saber patches up Shirou's injuries and refutes Shirou's assertions that Archer's a terrible guy by saying he's not so bad, and that she believes Shirou could actually reach his level of combat proficiency, followed by Shirou grabbing her hand and asking for her to train him seriously now, which she eagerly agrees to.

** Rin's tsundere response to Shirou's [[spoiler: rescue attempt and confession. First there's AngerBornOfWorry and then laying her head against his back and thanking him.]]

And this is after his [[VillainousBreakdown Villainous Breakdown]] just before Shirou cuts him down with Kanshou.
** In the end a battered Shirou finds Rin and they go home on a beautiful day. Showing they [[EarnYourHappyEnding deserve it]]

** This little ten minute OVA shows the Good Ending to UBW, and boy does it live up to its name. Shirou, Rin, and Saber, with the latter choosing to live out her life in this time with the two people she loves the most, and Shirou choosing to stay by their side instead of his more ambiguous decision in the True Ending.
*** In other words, both Saber and Shirous issues are resolved and put behind them, and Rin finds a way for the three of them to stay together forever. {{OT3}} confirmed.
