** This is shown in Mission 16 after Nero saves V from Malphas. He tries to tell V to head back noting that his body won't last much longer however V begs for Nero to help him reach Urizen as his last request. Despite wanting to get revenge on Urizen for taking his arm Nero helps V walk forward merely grumbling that Dante will definitely beat them to the punch. It really shows how much of a good person Nero is that he would give up his change for revenge to help his friend.

* The OddFriendship that forms between V and his familiars as the story goes on considering how cold and hostile their initial encounters were. Griffon in particular forms a nice VitriolicBestBuds relationship with V, often snarking at his expense but also trying his best to look after him from finding him food to making sure he bathes. Griffon even tells V that all of his familiars like him and want him to succeed in his goals. This is hammered home in the penultimate chapter when V and Urizen are looked in battle with the latter calling himself the strong one before V's familiars arrive to help him subdue his demon half:
-->'''Urizen:''' I disposed of you, and I ate the fruit. I should have obtained everything. I am strong!\\
(Cue all of V's familiars dogpiling Urizen.)\\

* Ironically the final confrontation between Urizen and V after the formers defeat. After being subdued by V's familiars Urizen rants that he should have been the one to win and insists he is strong. However soon the armor surrounding Urizen shatters, and he transforms into a burned husk as he admits to himself that he was weak all along. V, now having realized what it truly means to become strong, comforts Urizen and embraces him telling him they can be strong together.
* The final conversation Griffon has with V after the latter has successfully remerged with Urizen. Knowing that their time together is over now the nightmares say goodbye to V who can now move forward on his own. Considering it was unknown in the base game if Vergil was even aware of his familiars sacrifice for him this goodbye between V and Griffon is a nice subtle conclusion to their budding friendship throughout the manga.
-->'''Griffon:''' Well then, we can't go any further. This is the end of the line for us nightmares. See ya!\\
'''V:''' Yeah.\\
'''Griffon:''' Hey, look! It's a fine morning.\\
(V looks around at his surroundings before noticing that the darkness which represented the nightmares has disappeared.)\\
'''V:''' True, it's a fine morning.

** What's more, Vergil's "World of V" special in the ''Special Edition'', shows he can still use Yamato to sunder himself back into V ''and'' his familiars for an all-out assault. It could be seen as their SuicideByCop working not by permanently killing them, but by simply allowing Vergil to move past his trauma and use it to forge a new path from the experience. The events will ''always'' be a part of him, but he's still able to find strength in them rather than fear or weakness.

* In a way, the factor that one of the first things that Nero brings up to Kyrie is that he might have a family. Not just the family of Kyrie and Credo, but an actual biological family of his father, Vergil, and his uncle, Dante. The factor that his first reaction is to get them to not kill each other, which also happens to awaken his actual Devil Trigger, it wouldn't be so far a stretch to say that Nero's Devil Trigger, as it was with Kyrie, was born from ThePowerOfLove for his biological family. It also neatly punctuates what Nero said to Sanctus over how he didn't get strength from Sparda (the sword) was because he lacked love, and here it's enough to let Nero get a full on Devil Trigger.
* After Nero fights down Vergil, Vergil decide they must go through the portal and seal it in the Demon World. While Nero cannot be convinced of the idea because it will seal them off from the Human World, Dante tells him that it's only because of him they can go, because he is the one they can trust to look after the Human World, taking over for him.

This also means that Vergil's first real friend turned out be his own son.

He also addresses Vergil as V when he confronts him, and actually is shown reading V's Blake book during the epilogue, despite being dismissive of it earlier. * From the Special Edition Trailer showing off playable Vergil, it appears as though instead of a Sin Devil Trigger, Vergil's ultimate form is to use Yamato to ''turn back into V''. Actually, post-launch it turns out to be more of an ultimate attack called World of V. In other words, not only did V not suffer a DeathOfPersonality as originally thought, but now it's one of Vergil's strongest forms to embrace his human side, as V's familiars with Vergil's devil powers makes him a veritable army.
** This is a case of double heart warming as when Vergil transforms to V, he still has access to his 3 familiars Griffon, Shadow, and Nightmare. Despite the non-canon nature of Vergil's run through the game, the developers explicitly stated that whatever abilities Vergil has are still canon (for example his version of Force Edge is conjured from his memories and given form much like his summoned swords). Meaning that while they represent Vergil's trauma as Nelo Angelo, Vergil still decided that they were still worth keeping around if only on some level as V.
* The additional ending scenes added to Vergil mode in ''Special Edition'' shows Dante and Vergil upon their arrival in the Underworld. The sight of the them charging the Qliphoth together with their swords drawn brings a powerful sense of closure to fourteen real world years of the Sons of Sparda trying to kill each other in a time where it's not certain if the fans will ever see them again.
