* When convincing a Normal villager to not move after the day you pick the option that would allow her to stick to her move, if successful, the Normal villager may say that she kept hearing a voice inside her head telling her "Don't go." She then says she knew it was your voice.
** Allowing the moving villager to reach the final day before packing up is the PointOfNoReturn after that day, meaning this is your last chance to convince the villager to stay. However, deciding to let the villager go might leave the villager to decide to stay in your town. (For instance, a snooty villager might become shocked that you are not going to try to stop her before aborting her move, setting the fact she is moving was a joke, and will then tell you "See you tomorrow.") This is even more heartwarming if that villager happens to be your favorite villager.

** There are also similar cases of this if you convince one of your villagers to not move. For example, peppy villagers break down into tears of joy and decide to stay,

** Peppy types are the playful type. When they ping you, they will sometimes cry and tell you that either the flowers or a disco ball insulted her. When you say that they are cute/still have their sparkle, they will be happy. They also sometime say that they want to play when they visit unexpectedly.

* There is a chance of a normal villager asking you to comment on how her outfit looks. If you choose "Cute":
-->'''Normal villager:''' Oh, [player name], you're too kind! It's nice to hear that, even if it does make me blush a little.

* ''New Leaf'' marks the return of camping villagers from ''Animal Crossing: Population Growing.'' Unlike ''Population Growing,'' these campsite villagers can move it if your town has 9 or less villagers. If they consider it, you can choose to convince them to move in. There is a 50/50 chance they will accept or decline, but even if they decline, you can try again. Sometimes, the camping villager will TakeAThirdOption and challenge you to a game, which can be an extended three-round Rock-Paper-Scissors or charades. After they accept or after they are defeated in their challenge, they will move in. After a few days, they move in, and checking up on them as they are unpacking will express their thanks for the invite. For example:
-->'''Snooty villager:''' I just want to say thanks again for inviting me to move to ''town name''.

** Similarly, giving villagers perfect fruit when they request any fruit (or a specific one) will cause them to express their thanks (with normal and jock villagers sometimes bursting into TearsOfJoy). This may also result in you scoring that villager's picture if you have high friendship.

* In ''New Leaf'', Lyle might strike up conversation with both the player and Nook, usually talking about other special [=NPCs=]. Through these conversations you can learn that Nook is spending time with the Able sisters again (and even blushes when Lyle teases him about them!), and he worries about not just how Timmy and Tommy are doing, but also about Phyllis and her workaholic behavior (which itself comes from her concern for Pelly). Lyle also mentions that he has two daughters, and his history of constantly switching jobs stressed his family out. He's glad that he stuck it through with the HHA for their sake. It's good to see NPCs improving their lives, reconciling with friends and family, and watching out for each other.
