** Mimeosomes were designed for humanity to overcome the rigors of space travel since they had no idea how long it would take them to find a new home (such rigors could include CabinFever on the White Whale if it took centuries for humanity to find a new home), but at the same time, make themselves still feel human. If eating doesn't provide the Mims a source of energy like it does for humans, it does at least keep them mentally healthy.
