This movie is a Dutch remake of a Danish movie "Gamle mænd i nye biler" (''Old Men In New Cars''); that movie itself was a sequel to "I Kina spiser de hunde" (''In China They Eat Dogs''). In the Danish movie this Dutch movie was based on (Gamle mænd i nye biler), the Vuk character didn't appear at all; he only did in the ''original'' Danish movie. When this Dutch movie remade the sequel (without ever remaking the first Danish movie beforehand), it decided to incorporate the "Vuk" character from the first movie into the remake (of the second movie). This is probably why his character seems so "tagged on".
