Why didn't Charles use the rifle in order to warn the helicopter? He was shaking his coat and using some branches filled with leaves in order to make the fire bigger but he could easily fire the rifle to make a sound. Did he run out of bullets or did he choose not to look threatening to the people flying the helicopter? He was just trying to survive though...
