[[WMG: Nylocke's purpose as the Dragon Bug's head]]

* At no point was there an explanation for why Nylocke was needed to form the head of the Dragon Bug. Flamegirl's purpose has been made clear, her holding the anti-virus, but Nylocke is never been stated as a target of Kizuna or Zetto before that point. What is it that made him the only person that could be used for the head? What specifications are needed for it? How does he contribute? No explanation whatsoever.

** A) Zetto was in pain and not thinking clearly, and B) people describe things in ways they've never actually wxperimced before, I.E. "It feels like an ax just went through my arm". It's fairly common.

Considering Zetto also describes it as a digital disease and an error, I'd say he was being dramatic. That said, it's not unusual for things described as viruses in fiction to behave in ways that don't quite fit the definition.

* No matter how many times I rewatch the series I ask if TOME is the worlds most popular video game how come (aside from a production stand point) how come there was only 16 or 32 teams was there a random drawing or something?

something?
** There were preliminaries off-screen to narrow it down. Still would've been nice to see more of them though.

[[WMG: Sofdti's views on violence and pain]]

* Sofdti is practically a toddler during the time of Episode 00, and she only understands what she's observed or been taught during that time. So why, when Exec brings up the topic of having a combative game in the Battle Grid, does her mind immediately think of violence? She's not been alive for very long and only had minimal contact with the Netkings by this point, and no one's mentioned anything about good or bad about competition, gaming, and the like, so where is she getting the basis for this opinion? The narrator brings up her learning the concept of "war" and "pain" as well, and how that has a profound effect on her and leads to the Forbidden Power being created, but there are no scenes in which anyone discusses these concepts with her beyond the brief talk with Exec mentioning how gaming helps humans to AVOID getting hurt. And for that matter, for a digital being in realm that was not intentionally made with the capabilities to make people feel pain within it (another thing no one bothered to tell her), how can she even comprehend the idea of pain enough to actually be afraid of it?

Now, besides the pain causing thing, which wears off and hasn't been shown to have any lasting or long-term effects, which I suppose counts as the third thing, the other two don't really apply. The Forbidden Power wasn't made on purpose, it was made on accident by Sofdti because she couldn't comprehend simple concepts like "humans compete for fun sometimes". And despite being in Alpha for the entirety of the first season, it has never shown to actually infect ANYONE. The only time it left him was when it had to be forcibly removed.

[[WMG: How is the "Forbidden Power" a virus?]]

* Computer viruses usually share these common characteristics:
** They are made deliberately for a purpose
** They multiply from infection and exposure
** They do harmful things without user permission

So why in TOME's Purple Caves is it called a virus of all things? Was Zetto just being overly dramatic as usual?

[[WMG: "Turning data into negative human thought"]]

* So the virus causes pain by simulating human thought? Where would it get a reference for that when nothing in the game before it caused actual pain? And what pain could they cause through the brain, like feeling like an ax cut off your arm like Zetto felt? Has Zetto felt his arm being cut off by an ax before?

* Having been revealed to be the benefactor that has been hiring hackers all this time, we know that she has some sort of nigh-bottomless checkbook to get ahold of one. We also know that the reason she's been hiring them is to find the virus for Zetto. Before the series started, the virus was in some sort of pocket dimension within the game, so them not knowing that may be the reason they never found it before it infected Alpha. However, post-Season 1, the thing was dormant within a physical game item on top of the Netking statues in Sanctuary. At the beginning of Season 2, we see her sneaking around in her cat form looking for it, and a chart at her base of all the places she looked, but she never considered that it might not be on ground-level? We don't know how much time has passed between Seasons 1 and 2, but it was apparently enough time that everyone but the Netkings got a new outfit, so was she just searching that one area of the game by her own all that time? She's fully capable of hiring someone with a literal birds-eye view (and has done so in the past), so why not now? If she's run out of money to do so, why not mention that to Zetto for the audience's sake? This seems like something that would've taken a lot less time if she'd just done what she's been doing for the whole series up until this point.
