** Possibly when Amanda got older, she was able to use powers of her own. Sixteen does seem to be a special age for witches, so maybe that's when hers reawakened. We don't know what age she is specifically in Season 4, although since it's only three years, that would require her to be a very immature twelve-year-old in Season 1.

** Possibly it affected any possibility she had for love. Harvey was still around and now available, and the whole final season was about her realising she was still in love with him. Luke also seemed to be potential for a new love. So the existing loves she had, and the potential ones she could have were affected.

** Or Mrs Hecht put it in there to be a troll.

** In many episodes, they do warn her. In many of those cases, they don't tell her the specific consequences, but they still let her know if something is a bad idea. Even if Sabrina knows the consequences, she'll still do what she wants and get into trouble anyway. Salem even calls her out on how she should listen to her aunts instead of doing what she wants, because they know better.

** Salem was likely born before the Witch Trials even began, so the resemblance is likely a coincidence. It was established that the Witch Trials didn't catch any ''actual'' witches, so it's probably not that big of a deal to the witches of the Other Realm. But if he was actually named after a witch-Auschwitz, I can see that being a thing in the Other Realm; witches have been show spy on mortals and enjoying their misery, letting torture slide, or even using magic to hurt each other for laughs. I wouldn't be surprised if many witches were just edgy like that.

Added DiffLines:

** Being too dependent on magic makes you ill-prepared for life without it, and there are many elements that can mess with magic (ie plastic, certain atmospheric changes, other witches' spells.) You also get witches like Amanda, who have so much power, but lack the maturity to wield them responsibly.

**Just a bit of random magical weirdness, there is probably an Other Realm rule that says witches cannot ever forget they are witches. Or maybe some magical reassurance and reinforcement of Sabrina's personal identity.

* What was the deal with TheStinger at the end of “The Crucible” where we see that Sabrina’s card actually (unseen to her) ''does'' say “Witch” after the teacher said there were no “Witch” cards? Did someone at the school know she was a witch and want to threaten her?

* I've always been bothered by the fact Sabrina's pet cat is named ''Salem''... as in, he's named after a town famous for ''witch hunts.'' Sorry for sounding dark but wouldn't this be rather like a Jewish family having a beloved pet named "Auschwitz"?

*** Hilda and Zelda had both had extremely bad experiences with telling mortals their secret, experiences which ruined their relationships with those mortals as even though the mortal forgot they still remembered and felt betrayed. They didn't want Sabrina to experience the same pain they went through so they hid the information from her for as long as they could.
