** The point was that he wanted Alice to fight Nemesis but she refused. When he threatened to kill her friends she tried to “call his bluff”. Shooting Dr Ashford was his way of saying “if I’m willing to kill a valuable employee, what makes you think I won’t kill your random friends who are worthless? So right Nemesis NOW”. He essentially says this verbatim.

If that were the case, wouldn't he have at least slowed down or swerved out of control after ramming into the car? Or was he just some random asshole who did it [[ForTheEvulz just for the hell of it]]?
