** Given Sabrina's toybox didn't have anyone but her mom, her gym has plenty of students working under her, and the people of Saffron aren't freaking out about her behavior it's probably safe to say her reaction to Ash and friends isn't how she always behaves. Something about Ash and friends must have set her off. Or maybe her father had been successful in driving away potential challengers.

Of course, given this is [[HotBlooded the original series' Ash]], takes offense to this and decides to catch a Pokémon own his own. Also, I doubt the stick had anything to do with it. It's just a Krabby which is a Pokémon that can easily be caught in a Pokeball without weakening it.
