slight correction.

*** To answer some of this, at the time this show debuted, people prolly thought of [=DID=] as a personality disorder [[note]] It ain't, it's actually a disassociative condition[[/note]] and so figured the patients diagnosed with it would be more "egodystonic", that is, the patient (if they are aware) might not think their illness isn't a legit concern, thus (prolly) explaining Harumi's feeling like she's "cured". [=IDK=] how diagnostic criterion and treatments work in Japan but I do know that, in 2004, [=DID=] wasn't as well understood as it currently.

** We also see very little of Harumi's life after she moved into her new apartment with her husband. Maria may have never left, but Little Slugger's involvement made Harumi completely ignore her other personality. From Harumi's perspective, she's cured, but from her husband's perspective, she's not.

** She mentions never wanting to be left behind (to the point of sharing a bath with her two male friends in the bathhouse) and wanting to go far, far away, especially by train. She also never tries to contact anyone (whether family or other friends) while with her two friends, and, when Fuyubachi brings up several ways to commit suicide after the scene in the train-station, she rejects all of them for cosmetic or comfort-related reasons (ex. she doesn't want her shirt to get wet, she wants her corpse to look nice, she refuses to eat cut-up cigarettes seemingly because she finds them gross or unappetizing, etc.). My interpretation is that she is incredibly lonely, has no friends outside of her suicide pact, and does NOT want to go home for any reason. Why is feels this way is unknown; she may have a terrible life at home, she may experience bullying and/or abuse, her family may neglect her, she may not have a stable home, etc. In any case, she does not want to commit suicide per se, but she doesn't want to be alone anymore. As long as she has her two friends around, she becomes very picky about how she wants to die (she may not even want to die when they're around), but all her friends want to die, so she does, too. She doesn't want to left behind and alone again, even if keeping up with her friends means joining a suicide pact with them.

A meta answer to a question another troper asked has been provided, but there's a more literal response that I felt was worth noting.

** From an in-story perspective, that's probably his school craft project. Earlier in the episode we see Yuichi looking at his own craft project (a model robot) which has been broken, on a shelf with a poster saying 'take your craft projects home today'. The first time the shelf appears numerous other items that Yuichi's classmates presumably made and took home before Yuichi got to his are displayed on it.
