* There is a mule in applebuck season. a mule. As in, the sterile offspring of a male donkey and a female horse. That implies quite a bit... and the fan assumption is that donkeys are on the same level as wildlife, meaning some mare in ponyville is very promiscuous. There is no other explanation.

** Well, they both needed voice actresses that could sound tomboyish, so this is probably why their voices are so alike.

**** Also, remember that while Twilight and the group know that Luna is actually not truly evil, most of the world does not and still fears The Mare in the Moon. Were Luna to take a visible and active role in governance, there would likely be a huge public backlash.

* This isn't a gripe, but I swear to God Rainbow Dash has the same voice as Spinelli from {{Recess}}. IMDB says otherwise, though.

** It was inevitable for a show that is popular on 4chan. And besides, [=FiM=] has lot more grown-up fans than older incarnations, and we all know what adult fanbase means on the Internet.

* The prevalence of creepy fans, even on this wiki. The word "bondage" shouldn't even be on the same page as My Little Pony.

** Nah, it's just a pun for a pony-society. Usually when there is an animal society, they make use of animal sterotypes and what we associate with them, and put it in 'out society'. Like a mouse-society has places all being puns on 'cheese'.

* The mayor addresses the public with "fillies and gentlecolts". Since colt and filly are terms for immature horses, does it mean they never grow up? Not that it couldn't be somewhat plausible in this franchise, but then, what about Granny Smith? (and Pinkie Pie refers to her own grandmother in one of her songs) Also, Rarity mentions "stallion of her dreams".

*** Maybe most of the males are just stronger. They didn't intend to go with some stereotype. If they did, all the Wonderbolts would be female, 'cus you know, the stereotype is that males are strong and females fast.

** What bugs me is that the most males we've seen in one place were during Winter Wrap-Up, doing the hard manual labor. Twilight appeared to be the only mare pushing a snowplow. On the other hoof, two of the three shown Wonderbolts are female (you can tell by the chin).

** You forgot about regular pony number 2: Pinkie Pie, who works at the shop of the couple Cake. And you forgot about Applejack's brother who also works at the farm and does the same things as Applejack. I do not know what you're implying, but there are enough male ponies doing different stuff. They're just not main characters. There isn't anything 'sexist' about anything they do nor their amount. My Little Ponies have always been mostly female, due to it being aimed for girls.

** As it was already mentioned somewhere, Laura Faust herself wanted her to be "queen Celestia" all along, but aparently little girls today see princesess as good and queens as evil for some reason, so she had no choice...

** The whole assignment was clearly supposed to be more like Celestia's personal favor to Twilight Sparkle who didn't want to leave her new friends and go back to her regular studying in Canterlot. The reports she sends back to the princess are just to inform what new she learned about friendship recently, not for anyone's actual scientific benefit.

** Heck, Celestia is basically a pony-goddess in this series. She's over thousand years old, she raises the sun every day, I would be surprised if she ''wasn't'' different from mortal ponies. And for a creature that is superior to ponies in the land called Equestria, what would be better than a full grown horse?

* Ever noticed how few male ponies there are? It's easy to miss. Go on, go look back through the first few episodes. The pegasi are the first men we see, and they don't say anything. They just chauffeur other ponies about. Unicorns like Twilight are given special social standing; look how free Twilight is to move about. (When not being ordered about by Celestia, of course.) There is a definite pattern of men being less obvious throughout the first few episodes, and they nearly always appear in roles involving manual labor. Of our main characters, we have two unicorns, who spend their time studying and crafting luxury goods, respectively; two pegasi, who have some duties about town like weather and animal control but are largely allowed to do as they like; and one regular pony, who has to spend all of her time maintaining her farm and working hard to keep her family business going.
