*** Actual Drill Instructor training is extremely brutal and ''very'' time-consuming. Speaking as someone who hasn't been through Drill Instructor training but has been through Basic Combat Training, Buffy went ''soft'' on those girls. DrillSeargantNasty isn't as far off as people immediately assume it is when they see it; the DIs (not just one; my platoon had ''three'' plus one seargant who was getting ready to enter DI training) tend to be merciless. I remember our third day in BCT, we got smoked in the showers ass-naked while the three DIs circled and screamed at us, because we took too long for the entire platoon to finish showering. Compared to that, Buffy was a saint.

* Why is Kennedy wanting weapons seen as a bad thing? Her life is in danger, wanting to take an active role in protecting it instead of standing around whining or being useless should be considered a good thing. Also, isn't it weird that the general consensus seems to be that she shouldn't have been participating in group meetings because she's new when those meetings are about her life and survival? I didn't like her either but the woman has a right to comment on her own life and take an active role in defending it.

** Its probably just a production mistake. Drusila back in her last appearance suggests that its all in his head. Later when sparing with Buffy he mentions that since he knew he couldn't touch her it didn't trigger the chip. Then he made a scary face as if he could hit here there and it triggered. So perhaps since he was training them and had no intention of really hurting them. However that actually works.

** Buffy's second death proved that her dying doesn't activate a new Slayer anymore, meaning she is essentially a cul-de-sac as far as the lineage goes. Theoretically, the next time she dies, the divergence in the Slayer line could repair itself and the First would lose its opportunity to make its move. Before her second death, it could have been reasonably assumed that the split is permanent, but if it's not, that limits the First's timeline to Buffy's lifespan. Given the myriad of ways a human can die, it had no choice but to move when it did.

[[folder: Spike vs Rona and Vi]]
* During the training exercise when Spike is taking on Rona and Vi, he backhands Rona before grabbing Vi in an armbar. He never shows any signs of pain when he hits Rona or when he aplies pressure to Vi's shoulder. Shouldn't his chip have fired when he did either of those things?

* The context of Kennedy's introduction is important to remember too. Willow and Tara were a beloved couple for a reason - they were one of the few positive, unstereotypical same sex couples on mainstream television, and Amber Benson in particular recalls getting so many letters from fans who said that their positive depiction of homosexuality flat out saved them from committing suicide. So when Tara was killed, there was outrage! Joss Whedon even reportedly got death threats over it. So Kennedy being introduced as a replacement lesbian character and paired with Willow quickly was their idea of damage control. She's hated because she's an obvious token created to appease those angry fans, without much effort to make her into meaningful character. She just hooks up with Willow because they're the only two women who love women on screen, which a lot of fans found insulting. Tara was built up as a love interest slowly, with her and Willow not confirming things outright until the end of the season. She earned her place in the cast while Kennedy didn't. And Kennedy was also obnoxious and spends most of her screen time whining or being aggressive - and of course bullying Chloe so bad she committed suicide is a major strike against her. If she were written like Cordelia - who's intended to be a mean girl whose HiddenDepths get revealed and slowly makes a HeelFaceTurn then she might be better received. She was basically forced on everyone with an attitude of "here's your gay representation, now stop complaining". TL;DR - ReplacementScrappy, TokenMinorityCouple and UnintentionallyUnsympathetic.

** The out of universe reason is that the Summers house was the main set they shot on, so it was easier financially to keep using the pre-existing set. In-universe? Maybe they feel more confident protecting the house because they know it so well? The Potentials sleep on the floors of the bedrooms, living room and possibly the basement, so maybe the situation is just about tolerable - although Kennedy does joke that they'll need another bathroom soon.

** Possibly it's because Buffy being brought back by CPR was a natural human death and revival done by a human as well. It was enough to trigger Kendra's awakening but remained more of an unusual yet perfectly natural circumstance. The Season 6 resurrection however was specifically going against the natural order of things - Buffy was dead and buried and they cast a spell to bring her back. And a very dark spell at that. It messed with the natural order. Osiris even told Willow that it was only allowed because Buffy's death was supernatural. You could also argue that the spell blurred the lines of good and evil, since the magic itself was very dark but was used for good. The First saw that and was inspired to stop being neutral.

* There's also the fact that she was randomly shapeshifting the whole time. The guy probably decided that he wasn't paid enough to deal with a customer like that.

[[folder:Taking advantage of the Slayer line diverging]]
* They establish that the First is using Buffy's resurrection at the beginning of Season 6 as the impetus for its plan. But the Slayer line was split at the end of Season 1 when the Master killed Buffy and she eas brought back by [=CPR=]. What made the later resurrection more crucial to the First's plans than the first one?

*** Willow was very much into magic when she met Tara, it was just something they could share and grow stronger and deeper in, but Willow had already done several spells by that point and would still have been into it if she hadn't met Tara. The person who got her started on it was Ms Calendar.
