*** Topanga can be an embarrassing name, too. They actually make fun of the fact that Cory doesn't like his first name, and his wife's name is Topanga, a few times throughout the series.

**** Topanga's lesson was that she couldn't be perfect. She was meant to help the boys despite knowing she would fail the assignment and couldn't be the perfect student because perfection is impossible and failure can teach you things too, sometimes more than success does.

** Dana may be not be crazy but She (or perhaps more to my point Larisa) sure doesn't act like an angry, vindictive girlfriend. In fact She seems to act like this is a prank instead of a felony and She's just going along with it. Dana starts off acting genuinely hurt but at the end of the scene is oddly cheerful. Her behavior makes no sense in universe.

** Dana's appearance in this episode makes no sense. She claims Shawn and her dated 6 months prior although this is her actress' first appearance in 3 years. Dana was nice and sweet in her first 2 episodes so being an accompliance to kidnapping is totally out of character. There is no real in universe explanation for Dana being in this episode (IRL Maybe They just wanted to bring back Larisa)

** Like with many of Feeny's lessons, I doubt he would've actually given any of them a failing grade if Shawn didn't succeed. But he obviously can't tell them that.

* Besides the need for conflict, what reason was there for Cory to break up with T.K. in "Sister Theresa"? They liked each other, she gave him gifts which he enjoyed -- and she made it clear that she was doing it because she could, not to get anything out of it -- he liked the attention, and for once Harley, Frankie, and Joey weren't bullying him.

** While he liked T.K., she was still fairly aggressive even at the end of the episode (when she was yelling on the phone) and that might've been too much for Cory, especially 7th grade Cory.

** The problem is that Cory began questionning if he had feelings for Lauren, and needed to see if there was anything there. As stated when Topanga breaks up with Cory, it was a SecretTestOfCharacter - Cory having to see if there was anything with Lauren showed that he ''wasn't'' really in love with Topanga, when she had shown that her feelings were genuine by running away from home & turning up at Cory's doorstep after they were separated by her parents moving away.
*** I think the thing that bothers most people is that the Secret Test of Character is a [[MortonsFork no-win scenario for Corey.]] Topanga tells him he needs to go on a date with Lauren to sort out his feelings (something that he brings up when she breaks up with him). If he obeys she breaks up with him because he doubted his feelings for Topanga and thus wasn't "really" in love with her. If he doesn't then she breaks up with him because he doesn't listen to her and refuses sort out his feelings.

** Cory's ankle had healed enough for him to go skiing on the final day of the trip, but he lied and said it was still bothering him so he could spend more time with Lauren. And while he said he didn't want to have feelings for another girl, he clearly did and lied to Topanga about his feelings, the kiss, everything. Had he told Topanga the truth, she most likely doesn't break up with him.

** Yes, the show definitely portrays Feeny as a stodgy old man verging on unreasonable tyrant in that episode. Turner probably should have consulted him before offering not to test the class, but Feeny dealt with the problem poorly.

*** Topanga's lesson was to learn to not butt in and let the boys figure it out themselves. She later holds a can of soup and an empty bowl as way for them to guess 'superbowl' and they don't get it. You can see her dying to help them, but she also doesn't want to fail

*** It's hard to see how the episode had any point at all. Three girls Shawn dated in his early high school years, did not sleep with, and broke up with under various circumstances became so obsessed with him that they stalked him, learned who he was dating, learned his schedule, and then kidnapped and handcuffed him. There's two levels of karmic separation at play: Shawn did nothing wrong, is treated as if he *did* do something wrong, and his punishment is far more substantial than the sins he's being accused of. Shawn's "philandering" (i.e. casual dating) is treated as some great crime against womankind, and the show treats it as an open question as to whether or not he really was in the wrong, even if the retribution was disproportionate. The episode ends with "Shawn was a creep but he changed, now let's go have a hypothetical five-way with Eric and Jack" instead of "Shawn kissed us in high school and now we're all going to jail for kidnapping."

* While it's normal for a character's parents or family members to change actors over the course of a long running series, why did Topanga's parents not only change actors during a story arc, but with ones that look nothing like the previous actor? [[TheyJustDidntCare Did they not care at all?]]

** Granted, I haven't seen that episode in forever, but the point of the assignment was to show Corey that he couldn't always help his friends (which he tells Feeny at the end of the episode, and Feeny accepts) and show Shawn that he could do the impossible if he set his mind to it (because he had thought getting into college was impossible, if I remember correctly). Feeny was giving them lessons on how to succeed in LIFE, not just school, and I think the Matthews would've been okay with that. I don't remember the point of Topanga's assignment, though...

** There are a lot of reasons. The story arc took place over the end of one season and the beginning of the next, as I recall. The actors could have been unavailable, they might be too expensive for the current budget for the planned season, or any number of other things. And casting for physical resemblance to previous actors is pretty low on the priority list.

** Because it was about the context, not the content. He doesn't actually want to see sexy pictures of Angela, he's just offended he wasn't offered the chance. Topanga doesn't get mad because she understands that, just as Angela doesn't kick his ass for it. Everyone was actually perfectly in character.
