** Parodied in "Tri-State Treasure: Boot of Secrets"; the boys' short film ends with the villain who has transformed into a giant ghost, getting taken down by [[DeusExMachina an army of flying saucers driven by past one-shot characters (Garbog the alien, Conk the caveman, a watermelon, and the Jeremy-Tree from Candace's Wizard of Oz dream) that suddenly appears]], then a ShoutOut to the falling banner scene from ''Film/JurassicPark'' (complete with T-Rex).

* ''WesternAnimation/{{Futurama}}'', funny enough, had one episode that used the trope, and it was the Season 6 anthology episode "The Futurama Holiday Spectacular". In the end of the first segment covering Xmas, after pine trees have grown larger in New New York, Bender prepares to light up a cigar despite the temperature gage being way too high for the Earth's atmosphere. This causes the whole planet to explode. Also, in the end of its third and final segment, when Hermes hopes peace and unity in the Bee Hive (which first appeared in the Season 4 episode, "The Sting"), the bees form a triangular formation by stinging the entire Planet Express crew (including KwanzaaBot). That segment, and the episode itself, ends with them being placed as Kwanzaa candles while be covered in honey nectar.
