** For those familiar with Elrond's backstory, the fact that there is a prominent engraving of an eight-pointed Fëanorian star on the ground in the council. Elrond included the symbol of the ''most hated'' Elven house right in the middle of his abode, presumably because he was raised by two Fëanorians himself and no one could stop him.

* After said incident, the Fellowship barricades Balin's tomb in the wake of an orc attack. During the process, Boromir hears the bellow of a cave troll and relays the information to the rest. The sheer exasperation in Sean Bean's delivery of that line is quite amusing.
