He was an incredibly devoted security guard for David Pilcher, who regarded Pilcher as the reason he wasn't on the streets. For Pilcher, he kidnapped hundreds, maybe thousands of people, killed many more in Reckonings, and acted as Pilcher's personal attack dog. So when Pilcher decides that they need a new sheriff is needed, one who isn't associated with fear and death, how exactly is Pope going to react?
